And then they discovered just why she was wise beyond her years. Diana, it was discovered, had been tripely blessed by their Goddess. She had the unique ability to gain supernatural powers by simply opening her body for a certain god or goddess to come into. For example, when she was in the service of the goddess of nature, Chislev, she found she could talk to animals and that they would respond and obey her commands.
For some, this was a great blessing, to have a child loved by all the Parthenon in their Coven, but for others, the ones in power, they felt threatened by her. Here this CHILD was, moving among them, showing them what real faith was. Knowing if they allowed her to stay, she'd ursurp their powers, the ones who hated her came together and brought charges against her.
They told the members she'd been making deals with the Parthenon of Darkness, a thing that caused even the most stalwart of Diana's friends to do a double take. Such charges were not brought against one without indisputable facts. Saddened by this show of jealousy of the gifts she hadn't even meant to be known publicly, Diana accepted the fact she'd never be able to live in the Coven again and be trusted, and left.
She journeyed to Avalon by asking help of the god of the seas, Trytoin. Trytoin was more than happy to help her, giving her a magical boat that sailed to the island without aid of sails or oars. She made her home here, a small house near Siren's Cove, out of wish not to be disturbed, except for the times her help is needed. |
