Mercy Jones.. Just another sexy assassin? .. Or something more?
That's the question many people pose when they first meet her. Beautiful, shapely, flirtatious, and lethal, Mercy carves out a living as an assassin of the highest degree. Her charms extend not only to killing people, but also to charming men for "amusement".. Rarely does she meet a man who she actually respects.
Mercy is totally dedicated to her job; it's her life, the only thing she has. She's the type of woman that people would identify as a "slut" but in reality it never goes very far.. She either gets bored or simply disappears. She's got strong mental walls, not only to keep people out, but her Past in. |

Mercy was born to the rich and famous Talayne family of the city of Peristone. They lived in a vast mansion/plantation on the outskirts of the city. Her father was the wealty, conniving mayor of the city and had more favors than stars in the sky. Her mother was a soceity loving gossip with nothing better to do than meddle in everyone else's affairs. Mercy was an only child, and not called Mercy. Her name was Jenivive. |
Jenivive had a wild, adventurous spirit, always seeking adventure. She felt bottled, caged by the frivolous parties and entrigues of her mother's world. So she made friends with local servants, and more often than not, Mayor Talayne's voice would echo out into the streets as he bellowed at his daughter, often muddy and torn from street brawls and adventures. But no matter how loud he yelled, Jenivive would be off romping again the very next second she got a chance to escape. Nothing her parents did could disuade her. |
And then, the last straw came when Jenivive was seventeen. She'd fallen in love with a local mercanary, but her father was appalled. He flatly refused to let her out of the house, and locked her in her room for a week. And while she was imprisioned, he had his guards hunt the man down and kill him. Jenivive escaped from her prision of a room and fled to Connor's haven, but the man was already dead, murdered brutally by her father. |

She left the manor without any warning, and her parents finally excepted her as being dead. She changed her name too, to Mercy, for, she said, her victims would beg for mercy before she was done with them. She lost her naiviety quickly on the street, honeing her skills, finding a sense of peace in the thrill of the hunt, and a sort of perverted satisfaction in the death of her opponent. Her fame grew quickly, and soon she was making her own millions through death. |
Conor's death, and the resulting treatment she got from the drunks and jerks she encountered on the street led to her developing a sort of hatred and deep distrust for anything male that swaggered. She also honed her sharp wit into a biting turn of phrase that could leave any man speechless and alienated. She doesn't let anyone get close, and has a knack for making more enemies than she does friends. And if a person does prove themself an ally, she would do practically anything to keep them safe.
Her heart and soul belong to one man and one man only. Love isn't something she was looking for, but now that she's found it once more, she's not lettin' him go any time soon. |

Her weapons include: twin dueling sabers, magically fortified so that even a knick will weaken someone incredibly; throwing stars; daggers hidden in various parts of her clothing; a long sword; whip; parallysis air darts; sleep pills. She also wears a obsidian panther charm that allows her to withstand all but the most fierce of magical barrages as well as rare flashes of powers. |
