Kevin Coons was born in Long Beach, California on the 8th Day of January on the year that was 1981.

This day, January the 8th, was also the bithdays of Elvis Presley, and David Bowie.

At the tender age of only nine years old he began taking weekly electric guitar lessons with his Father at a local music store. He quit about 2 months later.

In the third grade Kevin took up playing the recorder as an elective in Elementary school.

In the fifth grade Kevin decided to join his elementary school band and play the clarinet.
He continued to play in mddle school, but quit after one year.

Several years later when Kevin is fifteen years old and a freshman in high school he begins to teach himself to play the guitar after hearing the band Nirvana. This time he doesn't quit.

Kevin forms a band and during practice sessions would experiment with different ways of recording the performance for evaluation.

This leads to an interest in audio recording techniques and technology.
The interst later turns into a hobby, and later into a career option.

In December of 1997, after hoaning his recording skills during band practices Kevin gets his first paying recording gig. For $40 he records the band Hard 90, his friend's punk band, in the drummer's garage.

After graduating from High School in 1999, Kevin begins attending Long Beach Community College and taking classes in Audio Recording.

After graduating from LBCC and receiving an A.A. degree, Kevin began attending California State Dominguez Hills University majoring in Digital Media Arts: Audio Recording.

In January of 2002 Kevin begins to teach himself to play drums and reportedly has not yet quit.

While still at CSUDH,  Kevin is now a successfull freelance recording engineer recording bands such as Shwag, Findaway, Here Comes The Rain, and others.
