The Piedmont Boulders have one of the longest approaches for the urban stone, but it's under a quarter mile. The lines in this area are condusive to some really unique moves, verying from knee-bars over roofs, to highball chucks, to thin crimpy sit-starts. I would definately recommend the rock here over most of the other stuff in town.

**Climbing at Piedmont is better without snow

"The Eliminate Wall"

1. Unnamed (V1)-Sit start, climb up and through crimps.
2. The Flying Wiese (V3)-Sit start, with both hands on the horn, and climb up really small crimps. Slippery when wet!
3. Unnamed (V2)-Sit start on big lieback, and climb into the Flying Wiese.
4. Arete Problem (V2)-Sit start, climb up arete.
5. Unnamed (unrated)-Standing start, climb the face in front of the tree.
6. Unnnamed (unrated)-Standing start, climb slopers on the face left of problem 7.
7. Unnamed (Unrated)-Standing or sitting start, climb face between right arete and left face. This is a good problem for eliminates

"A Place More Sacred"
We first did most of the climbs on this wall after easter weekend. When we got here there was a 10' crucifix standing a few feet in front of the overhang. Maybe the link between between our getting a couple F.A.'s on this day out, but not really before it, lies somewhere in the realm of 'divine inspiration'. Or maybe it was because everytime we blew offsomething, we came within iches of knocking the cross over, and that(for some reason) was really scary notion.

8. Leap of Faith (V2)-Standing start on the face just left of the arete. Chuck to the holds high and left, then mantle.
9. Jebus Jive (V2, with harder variations)-Sitting or standing start below the roof. Climb straight up and over.
10. Unnamed (unrated)-Sit start around the corner from Jebus Jive. Climb up and through the overhang.

The Legend on Leap of Faith

How to Get Here

From 40th Avenue getting off the highway, go up to Skyline Parkway. Take a right and follow skyline until the first major pulloff/overlook. From here head up the rocky ramp to an obvious trail. Follow the trail over a hill and on bottom there is a not as obvious trail leading left. Follow this trail to the cliff and head right along the cliff face about 50 yards and your there.
**Note...I apologize for the quality of directions. My only explanation is that it's very cold here so we do a lot of drinking to keep warm.
