Okkay. I wasn't going to make a speech. I really tried not to. But here we are. So now those who got curious and clicked ur way all the way here, I honour thee if u have the interest to read this through. Really. I salute u! ;) So here we are. A year later. Exactly one year ago I was typing the very first codes of Frozen Roses. I also started my current job exactly one year ago. I was so nervous about the new job. And then I started coding. Yup. My reaction to the important first day at new job. Stay up all nite coding HTML. Go sleep at 4 in the morning and then go to ur new job and give a good first impression to ur new boss. Yeah. But that was just...nifty ;)

It was so exciting to open a page to myself. A lot of us Scoobies had been thinking of opening sites of our own back then. There was a lot of discussions going in the cyberspace, where ppl talked of wanting to start webpages. I also had thought a lot about it, but haven't quite put the thought into action. Then it just happened. I had a few graphics in store already, so I just had to build the code. And that is just about the biggest part of the job. Hours just flew by when I finally realized it was true. I had a webpage. My very own webpage!! I know all of this sounds just cheesy, but I'm just somehow in the mood of doing a little trip down the memory lane. The trip of having a page did not start easily. The first few weeks went stumbling with the structure and layout. I added things and details one by one. It has been learning all along. Mostly in the coding, cuz I simply am too lazy to learn to use any editors. I already knew some HTML, but now I had to build a whole page with it. Just yikes.

By the summer I was quite pleased with the results. After FinBuffy it was time to switch layouts. Two months later, the current layout (2.0 Somewhere between dream and reality) was released. More like the vision I first had when I started this page. Visions are important. They show us directions and guide our mind. I wanted to make this more dream-like and think it succeeded quite well. Dreams are fuzzy. Surreal. Often like standing in the bottom of the sea. That is what I tried to describe with the black-green colors. But no more about that here. Go to section 'Vision' in case interested in that particular subject :) Life is learning and so is having a webpage. Somehow I especially enjoyed noticing the small progress in my coding skills - in which I know, still SUCK! ;) And one year later, the long time has finally paid off. I am now able to use tables quite flexibly. Frames would be nice also to learn some day. But for now I stick to table-structures. But enough of the technical details already!! No one is intersted in those;) I just have this habit to start babbling about coding. Yeah. I know. Wacko!

Finally to the point. Geez, someone just slap me already! This always happens. I end up babbling nonsense! So now, THE point. Birthday. Today, one year later, I want to thank all the Scoobies in the net, who have given me the encouragement and motivation a webhost needs! You make it fun and you make it worth all the work!! :) Right now the upkeeping suffers from my almost total lack of time to make updates and stuff. But I have plans for the future. They just have to wait until my studies are over. This little thing called thesis (lopputyö) to do...blah :( But we will get there. Until then, I will be terrorizing ur mailboxes with 'Frozen Pearls'-newsletters. Mwahahaha!!! *maniacal laughter* If you like torture, drop me a word and you will become a part of my newsletter-ring! *wicked grin* Just occurred my mind that I have never explained why I call them Frozen Pearls. Funny ;) Well, first there is the whole Frozen-theme. It had to be something frozen. And u know the saying 'no pearls for pigs'. I decided it's not true. Pigs (read: Mr.Gordo) are UBERCUTE!!:) Pigs deserve to have pearls. And frozen pearls sound like something breathtakingly beautiful. My netpeople deserve no less! So that's why, I guess :)

So many of you deserve special thanks. Hereby I want to give everyone a biiiig hug and simply say: THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!! :) Cave-people: you are AWESOME!! Cave has become my little Mecha, where I come everyday to pray...which of course means eating chocolate, chasing dragons (I am the DragonSlayer after all!!) and having bananas! Without the little place hosting Cave called Vaarnis, Frozen Roses would never have been born in the first place! My affiliate sites Vaarnis and Poisonous Quill also deserve a special thank you. By the way...PQ also turns one year today!! So let us give a nice round of applause for PQ too!! :)

But now me is done talking. Finally! *grin* Time to go have the yummy-looking chocolate-banana-birthdaycake over there....and some AlienCoke to drink of course!! Enjoy! :) Unfortunately there is no carrots. *wink to a certain someone*

Per Ardua Ad Astra.
Through difficulties to the stars.
Without them ¤¤¤ I wouldn't be where I am today.
Thank you!! :)

Sincerely,
your crazy webhost Civil Angel a.k.a Civy
