0104. RUINS & ILLUSIONS

The PROPHECY is sent to investigate a set of Mayan ruins discovered on GAMMA-EPSILON V, a world located in another dimension. Starfleet Command, baffled by the many similarities of that world, reported by a Dimensional probe, opts to dispatch the only ship able to travel to that world.

Due to the nature of the mission, all none essential personnel are asked to remain at OUTPOST 149 until the return of the ship. Temmy Danara, the ward of Teneill Danara, ExO of the PROPHECY, managed to sneak back on board the ship before it's departure.

Upon arrival at GAMMA-EPSILON V, the PROPHECY discovered the ruins which had been identified by the probe. Calling upon his Captain prerogative, and not wanting to separate Teneill and Temmy who had been found out, Erik took the lead of the away team.

The mission took a strange turn when the empty, worn down ruins suddenly transformed into a vivid city filled with people making the away team believe that they had somehow traveled in time.

On their end, the PROPHECY faced problems of it's own, seeing it's Reserves of anti-matter being reduced to nil within only minutes. Due to interference with communications, the ship found itself unable to contact the away team and inform them of their predicament.

After being hailed by another ship which claimed to have the solution to the PROPHECY's anti-matter problem, the crew was forced to abandon ship and allow the other vessel to beam them down to the planet surface where they were reunited with the away team.

Before the unexpected arrival of the crew, Commander Morningstar and the rest of the away team were forced to take part in a game, the winner of which would be permitted to see the ruler of the city. It was later discovered that the 'Great Jaguar' worshiped by these people was in fact a Pa'Wraith which had taken over the body and mind of the high priest and leader of the Mayan city. It's goal, to achieve perfection by *absorbing* others.

Once together, the crew of the PROPHECY were cast into a deep cell, where they would have to wait for their final fate.

The crew, after having managed to escape thanks to the efforts of a local man, suddenly found themselves back on the ship with knowledge that everything which had happened had been a sadistic test of some sort, used to better understand Humanoids and certain of their emotional aspects such as fear and love.

NRPG

The mission ended abruptly due to the September 11th terrorist attack on the United States. The mission, having certain dark elements, was judged to be at that time *too dark*. This, added with the desire to give the crew some time to gather their thoughts, was enough to move the story to a quick and unexpected end.
