My name is Shilini Budhram and less than a year ago, B.E.L.L. (Building Educated Leaders for Life) Foundation, Inc., an academic enrichment organization, gave me the opportunity to help children achieve academic as well as social proficiency. One afternoon a student asked for help. Her name is Alice. She was having difficulty with her assignments and her grades were so poor that she was in danger of repeating the sixth grade. I tutored Alice in literacy and math and after a few months her grades improved. This was when the desire to become a teacher was born.
