Recently when I was aiming to buy the 1951 Chevy 4 door I posted about earlier, I told my Mom about it after I learned that it had sold back in November. She goes to tell me that her first car was a 1951 Chevy 2 door, her Dad's old car. In the early 70's she gave it to my cousin. He put it in his basement to fix up but never did. It has been there ever since. I spoke with him earlier today and told him if he ever would consider selling it or trading something for it to let me know. He just called me back saying I could have it just to keep it in the family. Solid body and complete but probably needs everything. The pic is of my Mom's Mom with the car in the background. Details later ...
These pics are as I found it.
5/7/07 - I got the title (1974) and several boxes of parts. Car is complete. Most everything is disassembled though. VERY solid car. Minimal surface rust in trunk. Original 216 engine. Still has the optional oil filter.
7/15/07 - Scored a very nice rebuilt Carter carb for $25. This car has its original engine but I want to get a later engine to drive with. I would hate to throw a rod and ruin the original engine.
7/16/07 - Just got the car into the basement at my parent's house. There it can stay in the dry and I can work on it with my Dad. Here are a couple more pics of it in its new home.
1/12/08 - Bought a 1951 tag from the Auto Expo.
