parts for sell and wanted

******************* WANTED ******************************

Always looking for a split bus or pickup (single or double cab), older the better unless its a 67 (12 volt is a good thing). Would consider trading (or partial trade) one of my current vehicles. Nothing pricey right now as I'm running out of room to put my VW's.

restorable 67 down (older the better though) VW Squareback type 3 (or two of em). Must have good straight body, minimal rust, and must be a complete car. It don't have to have an engine. Must be within 100 miles (roughly) of Charlotte NC. I have a friend that lives nearby also looking for one so if you have two of em, lemme know.

Videotapes: Please keep in mind that these are amateur recordings, I wanted to see the action as well and didn't always hold the camera still. I am willing to trade copies of these for other amateur recordings of other VW shows. All VHS tapes $3 each.

#1 is a video I shot at the Volkswagen show in Manassas Virginia on 9/3/95. Footage includes show cars, drag racing (shown most, mostly pros), slalom, and bikini contest. The drag racing is 1/8 mile and a VW rail dragster and VW turbo beetle set world records during this event. The scoreboard was not showing the speeds, if I remember correctly the rail dragster set the record at 150.87 MPH (running a 4.74). I can't remember the speed the turbo beetle set.

#2 is the North vs. South Shootout VW show that I went to on 3/26/00 and recorded with my camcorder. This is an amateur recording, I don't always hold the camera still and the sun was extra bright, but still not a bad job. Picture is actual screen shot. Good to watch if you couldn't make the show or live too far away. I mostly filmed the drag racing and I did film almost every run by every car (super pros, pros, and sportsman) starting at the last round of time trials. The Fisher Buggies VW funnycar set a new world record at this event at a 4.69 ET at the 1/8 mile at almost 150MPH, not bad for a 4 cylinder. I did hit the show car area, but mostly did a walk through. Total footage is just over 70 minutes. I made an mpeg from this tape of the funnycar doing a burnout.

VW Funnycar burnout

#3 is a video I shot at the first East Coast vs. West Coast Volkswagen show in Lakeland Florida on 4/6/97. Footage includes show cars and 1/8 mile drag racing (drag racing shown most, mostly pros). At the time, the east coast VW dragster held the 1/8 mph record at 150.87mph and the west coast dragster held the 1/4 record (I don't remember what that speed or ET was). Pictures are actual screen shots. During the first east vs.west matchup, my zoom lens messed up and the footage for that run is terrible but after that it worked ok. They ran best 2 of 3 and it did go to the third run to decide the winner, decided by .07 seconds. One of the dragsters upped the MPH record during this event. The footage I got at this show was short, so I added footage from two other smaller events to make up for time.
