Ignoring the wind, blowing her long Auburn hair in her face. Serena stood at the tip of the cliff, watching the large fierce waves, smashing against the large jagged rocks below her. They sent a spray of mist up, till she could taste the salt on her dry, unsmiling lips.

Unaware of anything else, except, the burning pain and utter loneliness in her heart and the pounding in her head. Most of her tears had been shed weeks ago, but a solitary tear, slowly trickled down her pale cheeks. Her heart was torn and shattered, as though time was standing still. An inner voice kept telling her to forget about Cannon Sharink, but it was so much easier said than done, everything was just too painful.

How Serena wished, that she had the strength to do what she had planned to do, to throw herself at the mercy of Neptune. Feeling her legs buckling under her, she knelt down, with her head in her hand. Serena had never felt so desperate in her life before, God, didn't anyone care about her, it was obvious to Serena that Cannon didn't.

Why did he hate her so much?.. Serena knew that she needed help, to pull herself together. Feeling a large lump forming in her throat again, she sobbed. Shaking in temper against the whole world, she screamed out, louder than she ever had before 'Help me!'

Serena looked over the cliff edge, it was a long way down, she wondered what she would look like, after she landed on the jagged rocks. She wasn`t afraid to jump, she was quite calm as she thought about it, quite rational.

She wondered idly how Cannon would feel, when he was told how she died, and she smiled to herself.

She stood up, gazing down at the rocks, preparing to jump. She would jump, she decided, as the water was almost on the rocks. She wanted to feel the water, to let it wash over her, as she closed her eyes for the last time.

There was nobody to care for her, no parents, no family. She had a few friends, no one really close, and certainly no boyfriend or lover. No, she decided, no one would miss her.

Serena decided she was ready, the tide was where she wanted it to be, and she took one step forward. She knew there was nothing under her foot, nothing but the sea air, and the waiting rocks below. She kept her eyes open, she had always wanted to fly, this was as close as she would get.

With a start she realised she wasn`t falling, though she ought to have been, she took another step forward.
Still nothing happened, though both feet were now over the rocks, with nothing beneath them.

`What do you think you are doing ?` A voice asked, startling Serena, she looked around herself quickly.
There was nobody near her, nowhere for anyone to hide, she was totally alone.

`Who is there ?` Serena asked, frightened, moving backwards as though pushed. She had felt the hands that had shoved her back onto the cliff top, yet she could see no one, there was nothing to see
