  • 05/07/02 NEXT SINGLE:
"well, this might be a bit premature, but it looks like DARKER DAYS will be the first single released. VERY excited about this song.....another FSM running down the motorway- punchy driving summer-running from the police- type song....and to make everything easier, i'll give you the lyrics before you hear the music....so when it's released, you won't have to try and figure out what the hell i'm singing...here goes [lyrics found here]
DON'T ASK WHEN IT'S GOING TO BE RELEASED!!!! STILL HAVE KNOW IDEA....JUST FOUND OUT WHAT IT WAS GOING TO BE.....WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN WE DO!!!!!!!!!! GOOD NEWS IS IT'S BEEN CHOSEN....THE BALL IS ROLLING....SEE YOU SOON" - Tad
  • 05/06/02 CD AND TOUR:
"The next FSM Cd has been handed over to our good friends at Spitfire records. I think they are going to chew on it for a while but it looks like an Aug. or Sept. release date. It will followed up with a great big tour of the UK in September. We thank you for all your patience and support while we were getting this all sorted out. I know it was worth the wait." - Zu
  • 22/05/05 CD UPDATE:
    "Ok......................................
Everyone has been wondering what is up with new CD. I think some people have been starting to wonder if there really is a Four Star Mary. Rest assured the new CD is almost complete. We have been working real hard to get it into something we can really be proud of. All I can say is that it is without a doubt the best thing we have done. We have alot of songs to choose from for this CD and it will be difficult to choose what stays and what goes. We don't have a release date yet but a solid date will be coming very soon.

On another tip. Our good friend Sean Michael (the Director of our Pain video) has just got the green light for his next movie. This is the movie that Our good friend Vince(the that stalked Tad in the Pain video) wrote and will be staring in. Production starts in June. Sean has aready scanned an advance copy of the new FSM CD and picked up the song Bleed on for the movie.

Sheesh my fingers are tired now. I must stop before the Moderators kick me off.

    Namaste,
    ZU"

  • 23/04/02 TOUR UPDATE:
"NOW! NOW! of course we'll be touring the u.k. the cool yet frustating news is that the record company really loves the new stuff and wants to make a big push for it....this takes about 4-6 months for press and marketing. bad thing is that we've had to push back the start of the tour until the summer. we've been told to put our emotions of excitement about coming back over on the back burner and be patient......so all i can say is the same to you. i fucking hate it, but in the long run i guess it's best. i hope you guys understand. who knows, if the company agrees to film the first video of the single in england, we'll be able to play some shows before the album comes out! but until they decide what the single is, we all have to wait. aaarrgghhh... thanks for being patient
    xoxo
    tad"
  • 02/02/02(ish) ALBUM UPDATE:
"You may be pleased or dismayed to hear that work on the next album is STILL going on, with Tad, Zu and I [Steve] working on new songs at a feverish pace. We're trying to come up with that magical musical masterfunkfest that will convince our record label to put out the fat cash necessary to get it on the radio (oh.. sorry.. you're not supposed to know that it works that way).

Current plan is for the final tracks for the album to be mixed at the end of March in London at Animal Farm studios. March!?!?!? Yeah.. I know. It's frustrating for us too. However, tour plans for the Summer are looking good.. so you can expect us back to rock-out with you in person in May and June."

  • The fantastic video for Pain can be seen here
  • Gah! Lack of updates abound. Sorry. Anyways, elusio got her Summer Tour 2001 micro-site up, and it looks really good. There are pictures of all the gigs of the summer, and journal entries from Tad and Steve...check it out for more info!
I got my pics of the Garage gig in November back, but I have yet to scan them in. When I do, they will be uploaded here.
  • The new guitarist answers to the name of Derrick, and if the boards are to be believes, sports a rather fetching Kevin Keegan-esque mullet. Be nice and say 'hi' when you see him at the gigs I'm sure you are all going to!
  • Word has it that the single 'Pain' will be released on 24th October give a day or 2...Look out for it.
  • 28/09/01 NEWS FROM DOUG:
    "Howdy y'all,
I wish things were different, but I will not be posting on the boards anymore as I have been "released" from Four Star Mary today and am no longer a part of the group.
I have had a blast on the boards with many of you and had a GREAT time with many of you last summer on the tour. Have fun at the shows on the next tour in October and keep up the support. Y'all are an INCREDIBLE group of fans and the guys really appreciate all of you.
If any of you would like to keep in touch please feel free to email me at dropdgtr@yahoo.com.
Take care, I'll miss you all.
    Doug"

  • "Okay.. sorry for the confusion.. things have just been VERY hectic here, and I forgot that you guys aren't able to read my thoughts.. yet.

    1. The single being released in October is "Pain." The b-side will be our version of "Surrender" by Cheap Trick, and there will be a LOT of content from the illustrious NOW crew (aka, the lovely and talented Trude), including footage from many of the shows we just did in June/July.

    2. We are also shooting a video of Pain, which will be released to MTV, etc. concurrently with the single. The video is being shot this weekend and next Monday in Los Angeles. Anyone who can make the shoot on Sunday or Monday should drop me a line at steve@msgrecords.com to get call times and maps!!

    Anything else?? Hmm....

Trying to get permission from our booking agent to officially announce the tour dates for October/November. I think many of you have noticed that the Lomax, Roadmender's and Fibbers' websites are already advertising FSM appearances. So, well.. the cat's out of the bag on those. Will get the rest of the dates published to YOU, my only reasons for living, ASAP." - Steve more...

  • Doug Speaks

"Howdy folks this is Doug the newest member of the band...First off, I would like to say "THANKS!" to BeMu for the kind words regarding my first gig in L.A. with the band. I was a little bit nervous and was also concerned about getting knocked off the stage by Steve
I am looking forward to meeting all the 4SM people in the UK. I am from Atlanta, GA and have been in California for about 7 months or so. I moved here to get into a good band and get on tour...so far so good!
To MonSTeR: I have a couple of Les Pauls (92 studio and 77 reissue of 55 flat-top) I play through a 1997 Fender Evil Twin Amp. I don't use many stompboxes...I have a MXR O/D pedal and a Boss Delay/Reverb unit. I also have a Sansamp PSA-1 rack unit....never used it live but it sounds bitchin!
I think we are going to be using some borrowed gear for the tour in the UK. Anyhoo....if y'all want to email me please send them to dropdgtr@yahoo.com. Take care all!" - Doug more...
