A Fairy Tale Chapter 36
"Thank god!" Brenda cried, closing the door behind Juliet and Kieron and then jumping into Jaxs arms, wrapping her legs around his hips, and smiling sexily at him. "I love your sister and Kieron - but I thought they were never going to leave us alone."
Jax laughed softly. "Neither did I." He admitted. "Didnt you see the looks I was giving Kieron while Juliet was talking to you about what you two need to pack for the cabin? They were clearly saying - LEAVE NOW!"
Brenda burst into laughter. "Im afraid we werent the best hosts. I was giving Juliet the same looks when you and Kieron were talking to Jerry." She leaned forward, and kissed him. "I guess what they say about great minds thinking alike it true, huh?"
"Great minds?" Jax echoed. He carried her over to the couch, and laid down on top of her. Slowly kissing her neck and working his way up towards her mouth, he whispered. "I dont think my mind is exactly what Im thinking with at the moment sweetie."
"Oh really?" Brenda asked, getting a devilish look in her dark eyes and arching a slender eyebrow. Rolling over, she perched herself on top of Jax, and straddled her legs across his hips. Leaning forward, she began to unbutton his shirt, and running her fingers over his muscled chest, she kissed him slowly and sensually on the mouth. Saying against his lips. "Well Mr. Jacks . I like the way you think."
Brenda traced Jaxs lips with her tongue, and slowly eased her way into his mouth, brushing her tongue against his. Jax moaned into her mouth, and slid his hands up the front of her sweater, reaching for the clasp to her bra. Lovingly and passionately, Jax and Brenda made magical love.

"Oh honey . I cant believe you had all these flowers brought here." Brenda murmured, stroking Jaxs face with her fingers, and gazing up at him from where she was laying on his bare chest on the couch. Sitting up slightly she looked around their living room which was filled with pots of exotic and magnificent flowers from around the world waiting to be planted on their glassed-in porch. She laughed softly. "And I almost ran out of the closet and strangled Gretchens pretty blond neck when she assumed the flowers were for her."
Jax wrinkled his nose. "Please dont even say that name and flowers in the same sentence." He moaned. "Unless youre discussing funeral arrangements."
Brendas eyes got wide, and she slapped him playfully on the chest. "Jax!" she cried. "Thats horrible." Jax raised an eyebrow and gave her look. "Well " she reconsidered, and then said giggling. "Maybe its not *that* horrible."
Getting off the couch, she pulled on Jaxs shirt, and began to button it as she walked around the living room, smelling all the flowers, and skipping around smiling. Jax watched her lovingly from the couch. All of a sudden, Brenda froze, and turned. "Did you hear that?" she asked laughing and rubbing her stomach.
Jax wrinkled his nose. "Did I hear what?" he echoed. "I can see how gorgeous you look, and I can hear my own voice in my mind saying what Id like to be doing with you right now, but I wasnt aware of you saying anything." He teased.
Brenda rolled her eyes, and tilted her head. "Well ." She murmured, walking over to the couch and standing before him. "if you had been listening carefully you would have heard a very hungry stomach grumbling VERY loudly." She jutted her stomach out and pouted.
"Okay ." He said softly, looking at her stomach and then her pouty expression and laughing quietly. "well let me ask - *what* can I do to help your hunger my lady?"
Brenda laughed when he got down on one knee, and held her hands, looking up at her. "Well my knight in shining armor . You could come into the kitchen and help me make dinner."
A look of horror flashed across Jaxs face, but he tried to mask it quickly. "Youre uhh well - youre going to cook?" he managed to say. "You dont you dont want to just order take-out?" his voice had an element of hope to it and he gave her a cute, eager smile.
"NO!" Brenda cried, pulling her hands away and placing her hands defiantly on her hips. "JAX! This is going to be our last night together for a while and I want to make dinner together ." She arched one eyebrow and tilted her head, smiling. "I was thinking we could make something with whipped creme for dessert."
Jaxs eyes lit up. "That sounds promising."
"It is." Brenda assured him. Grinning she bit her lip. "Race you to the kitchen." Taking off, Jax whirled around and ran after, catching up to her, and grabbing her from behind, they both burst into laughter and he carried her into the kitchen.

"Honey . Would you get me two eggs out of the refrigerator?"
Trying not to look at the mixture Brenda was concocting in the large white mixing bowl, Jax nodded and walked over to the refrigerator. Taking the carton of eggs out of the refrigerator, Jax stood back and watched Brenda for a few minutes, trying to memorize every detail about her so that while she was gone, he could close his eyes and see her before him. At the moment, she looked absolutely adorable in the apron that Lois had given her when shed moved into the penthouse. She was singing to herself and swaying slightly as she stirred the mixture in the bowl. Her beautiful face was covered with patches of flour, and her usually neat hair was pulled on top of her head in a messy bun. Loose curls fell onto her face, and she kept blowing them out of her eyes, and smoothing them back with her fingers, which resulted in the flour streaking her hair. Noticing that Jax hadnt returned from his *long* trek across the kitchen yet with the eggs, she turned, and saw him watching her. "Hey!" she cried, smiling, and placing a floury hand on her hip. "What are you looking at?"
"You." Jax said honestly. "How is it that you can look like a goddess even when youre covered in flour?"
Brenda tilted her head, and raised an eyebrow. "Were not ordering take-out Jax."
Jax opened his mouth and looked at her with indignation. "Take-out? BRENDA! I wasnt giving you a compliment just to get you to order take-out " He laughed and walked over to her with the eggs. Placing them next to the bowl, he wrapped his arms around her waist, and began to kiss her neck.
"Youre really worried about my cooking, huh Jasper?"
Jax ignored her using his first name, and continued to kiss her. "As long as whipped creme is prepared at some point in this kitchen, I will eat whatever magnificent meal you put in front of me."
Brenda just laughed.
"Uh . Sweetie - if you dont mind my asking, what exactly are you making?"
"Bread." She answered simply, not moving from the counter where she was still busily mixing.
"Not in the bread machine?" Jax pleaded. Visions of Brendas last attempt to use the bread machine flashed before his eyes. Theyd practically had to call the fire department to get rid of all the smoke and "burnt bread."
"Yes in the bread machine Jax." she answered, turning to look at him, and giving him a disgruntled look. "Lois gave me a new recipe and I thought I would give it another try." She sighed. "Now if you wouldnt mind - youre negativity is making me crazy, so why dont you go get some work done, and Ill call you when dinner is ready."
Jax looked sad for a minute. He knew he was being negative, but he didnt want to leave the kitchen. "Okay ." He relented. "How about if I promise to be as quiet as a mouse and sit at the kitchen table to work?"
Brenda smiled. "You? Quiet as a mouse?" she laughed. "Thats almost as bad as my saying that this bread is going to be gourmet." Seeing his injured expression, she moved to console him, but he jumped away from her. Suddenly enraged, Brenda reached into the bowl of dough and chucked a handful in his direction - missing him by a mile. Instead of getting angry, Jax burst out laughing, picked the pile of dough up off and floor and threw it back at her. A fight ensued, with Brenda throwing dough ball after dough ball at him. In need of ammunition, Jax opened the refrigerator and opened a can of whipped creme. Squealing, Brenda tried to flee from the kitchen, but Jax grabbed her, and squirted her with whipped creme. Somehow she managed to get out of his grasp with the whipped creme can, and proceeded to attack him with it. The attack ended when much to her dismay - Brenda realized that the entire can was empty. Holding up his hands in surrender, Jax tried to wipe the whipped creme out of his hair and face.
Brenda just stood back laughing hysterically. Jaxs usually blond hair was white with whipped creme. His face was smeared with mixture of dough and whipped creme and his clothes were a mess. Without looking down, she knew she looked just as messy. "I guess I got a little carried away." She said softly - biting her lip, and trying not to smile. Her dark hair was flour, creme and dough streaked, and her cheeks were flushed with excitement. Jax tried to be angry, but he couldnt hold back his laughter either. Reaching out, he seductively picked up her hand, and ran one of her fingers over his lips to get the whipped creme off. Then, still staring into her eyes, he took her small index finger into his mouth and sucked all the creme off. "Come here you imp." He whispered. "You are so bad." He said into her ear before taking her into his arms.

Brenda sighed with contentment as she listened to the steady beating of Jaxs heart. Jax saw the smile dancing on her lips, and leaned down to kiss her cheeks and nose and mouth softly. She giggled and as she looked up at him, she shook her head slightly. "Do you know I still pinch myself all the time because I cant believe you really love me and that Im actually this lucky?"
The look in her eyes melted Jaxs heart, and he knew in that instant that she could put a plate of rocks in front of him and it would be the best meal he ever ate. "I feel the same way about you. I swear to you Brenda - I never imagined I could love another person so much . I didnt think I was capable of it."
"But here we are." She grinned. "In love - and happy . And . And "
"And covered in bread dough and whipped creme and god knows what other food products." Jax laughed. "I actually think I feel dough in between my toes." He shook his head. "Were really going to have to work on your aim."
Brenda slapped him playfully, and sat up, leaning on elbow, and looking down at him - her dark curls tickling his bare chest and arms. "My aim huh?" she murmured, leaning forward and kissing her favorite spot behind his ear. She laughed when she felt him shiver with pleasure. "I dont know about you - but my aim seems pretty good to me."
Laughing, Jax grabbed her to him and held her close. "Brenda Veronica Barrett - do you have any idea how much I love you?" he murmured, touching her face so gently that it seemed asthough he was afraid she would shatter in his hands.
"Hmmmhmmm " she sighed. "And if its anywhere close to as much as I love you - then baby - thats a hell of a lot." She giggled.
Jax smiled at her reasoning. "You are so adorable." She smiled at him and layed her head back down on his chest - just enjoying being close to him, and feeling his arms around her.
"Jax?" she said inquisitively, looking up at him. "When did you know you were in love with me? Did you have any clue when we met or did it take a while?"
He smiled at her question and the eager look on her face. "Well - I fought loving you for a while, because I thought you were so desperately in love with Sonny that Id only be setting myself up for a fall, but " he blushed. "I honestly think I loved you the second I saw you - or -" he laughed. "should I say you kissed me."
"Really?" her entire face lit up, and she sat up, resting her elbows on his chest. "You know what?" she started giggling. "After I kissed you that night, I went back to my room and despite all my plots and thoughts of Sonny, I couldnt stop thinking about you or feeling your kiss on my lips." She grinned self-consciously. "You touched my soul that night "
"As you touched mine." He laughed. "I just remember thinking how somehow my life was never going to be the same." He smiled, and ran his fingers through her hair. "And it hasnt been "
"And it never will be." Brenda promised.
"Oh really?" Jax teased, arching an eyebrow and grinning at her. "Are you trying to warn me that life with you will never be predictable?"
"Youd better believe it baby." She declared winking at him sexily and kissing him slowly on the lips. "We have years ahead of us or surprises, adventures, nights on the couch "
"food fights in the kitchen." Jax teased.
Brenda chose to ignore him. "AS I was saying, nights on the couch, dances in the rain ." She sighed happily. "Do you think well always be like this?
"Like what?" he repeated. "Absolutely insane?" he gave her a crazy look and she laughed.
"NO! Well - kind of I just hope were always adventurous and spontaneous and crazy the way we are now. Even when we have children and a family and are all settled down." She snuggled into him and gazed up at his face, stroking his cheek and jaw tenderly with her hand. "and I hope all our children have your beautiful eyes."
Jax smiled and kissed the palm of her hand. "Children?" he arched an eyebrow and laughed. "Are my ears deceiving me - or did Brenda Veronica Barrett just utter the word "our" and Children in the same sentence?"
Brenda laughed and sighed. "Very funny Mr. Yoga-Boy." Jax glared at her and then smiled. "YES - I admit that Ive always been a little *hesitant* about children . But but that was before I met you." she gave him the cutest, more adorable little smile hed ever seen and sat up so that she was leaning over him, her dark hair cascading over her shoulders and brushing against his face. "When I look into your eyes Jax - I see my future and our love, and everything good and pure in the world and I see family and trust and I cant wait to have a family with you " she cut off. "not now of course, but someday " she smiled. "you make me love myself, and youve given me the confidence to know that I can be a good parent. And that - aside from your love - is the greatest gift you could ever give me."
Jax tried to speak - but no words would come out. Would this woman ever cease to amaze him? Suddenly there was only one thing he wanted - only one thing that could make the next few weeks without her bare able. Taking her hand in his, he looked deeply into her eyes. "Marry me Brenda." He whispered, watching her dark eyes widen with surprise and slight confusion. "Lets do it - please marry me now."
