Fairy Tale 119-134
by: Belle
"Well Jer - it looks like someone didn't get much sleep last night." Justin teased when Jax stumbled onto the patio the next morning for breakfast. His golden blond hair was rumpled and he had dark circles under his aqua blue eyes. "Did Brenda keep you up all night?"
Jax reached for the coffee and poured himself a large cup. Taking a gulp, he groaned, "Like you wouldn't believe."
"Really?!" Jerry rubbed his hands together, and grinned at Justin. "Pray continue - this is getting good."
Jax glared at him and began spooning yogurt and granola into his bowl without responding to Jerry's request. Unbeknowst to both Jerry and Justin, Jax's sleep deprivation wasn't because he was up all night making passionate love to his 'fiancee' ; it was because he was up all night resisting the urge to make love to Brenda. He had never suffered such sweet torture. Sleeping next to her had been both a nightmare and a dream. Actually, he thought wearily to himself, the entire evening had been amusingly bittersweet. At dinner, Brenda had amazed him with her acting talents as she answered all his family's questions about their upcoming nuptuals and relationship. She had gushed about how much she loved him and how happy he made her, leaving Jax speechless. Yet everyone attributed Jax's loss of words to his being lovesick, so no one guessed that he was truly hearing these declarations for the first time. During dessert, Brenda, Juliet, Caroline and Lady Jane discussed possible locations for the wedding. The entire time, Brenda had sat on Jax's lap, unconsiously running her fingers through his hair while debating whether she wanted to get married outdoors or inside. Jax had jokingly suggested that they get married in the Bahamas on a boat with the dolphins, but instead of laughing, Brenda loved the idea and seemed thrilled that he was becoming involved with the planning. Finally, at 12 a.m., everyone headed upstairs to go to bed. Jax had foolishly thought that maybe he would be able to go to sleep and forget about the strange effect Brenda was having on him and the frightening emotions she was causing him to feel. Unfortunately, he had forgotten that he had a new roomate. She hadn't done anything unusual, and in truth, sleeping in the bed with her was no less intimate than sleeping on the couch in his penthouse with her had been. The difference was, that night in the penthouse, Jax hadn't suspected that he was falling in love with her. All night, he had tossed and turned, trying to ignore the fact that Brenda's presence seemed to fill the room. Every time he shifted, he could feel her touching him. Her soft body snuggled in close to his; the vanilla scent of her hair and skin making him insane, the quiet moans and sounds she made in her sleep fascinating him and making him want to know exactly what she was dreaming about. He had actually watched her for hours. It was bizarre - he wasn't sure what had come over him. Finally, at 7 a.m. he had fallen asleep, only to be awakened fifteen minutes later when Brenda softly kissed his lips and announced that it was time to get up. She had gotten in the shower and he had slowly made his way downstairs.
"Morning boys!" Brenda chirped brightly, skipping onto the patio looking happy, completely rested and breathtakingly beautiful. She was already showered and dressed in a pale yellow sundress. Her dark hair fell to her shoulders and the earrings Jax had given her from the Bahamas glistened on her ears. She smiled when she saw the three brothers engrossed in the financial sections of various world newspapers."Already conquering the world?"
"Actually, we were just talking about insomnia." Justin said laughing. "Speaking of which - how did you sleep last night my soon to be sister-in-law?"
Brenda took her cup of coffee and some fruit salad, and smilingly dreaming at Jax announced. "Perfectly. I honestly think I slept better last night than I have in months. I don't think I woke up once." she slid onto Jax's lap and wrapped one of her arms around him. "How did you sleep sweetie?" she asked him, playing with the hair on his neck.
"He didn't sleep at all!" Jerry declared. "Just look at him Bren - I've never seen a more tired face in my entire life."
Brenda studied him carefully. "Awwww...honey - I'm sorry." she murmered, giving him a pouty smile, and burying her head in his shoulder. "Did I keep you awake?"
"It wasn't your fault." Jax said sincerely, trying to appear undistracted by how close she was to him right now. "I have a lot on my mind." he grinned at her. "A very important business deal has moved to another level and I'm trying to figure things out."
Brenda giggled. "Well...I hope you don't feel like your partner is taking advantage of you. Because I'm sure that he's only trying to help and he wants you to be getting as much as you're giving."
"I never get involved in deals that don't give as good as they get." Jax reminded her. "Besides - eventhough the merger may be temporary, I'm having too much fun with this deal to walk away now." He yanked playfully on her hair and rested his hand on her thigh. She looked down on where his hand was lying so comfortably and raised an eyebrow. He responded by running his other hand up her arm slowly. Electicity rushing through both of them as they felt the other's touch. He wasn't sure why he was flirting so shamefully with her. And he was even more puzzled by the fact that he was confessing that he didn't really mind their fake engagement. But something about the way she was laughing and smiling at him caused him to lose all common sense.
Cocking her head, Brenda ran her fingers slowly up Jax's chest. "I have the feeling that your partner wouldn't let you walk away. I think there are benefits from the merger that haven't been explored yet." she smiled seductively and Jax shook his head, grinning.
"Really?" Jax implored. "Now that's interesting because I seem to remember that this partner of mine was afraid to surrender her 'property' to me."
Their eyes met and Brenda blushed remembering her behavior that morning in the kitchen. Jax noticed flush of color on her cheeks and smiled, letting the topic go and turning his attention back to his brothers who were trying not to appear as puzzled as they both felt. Both Jerry and Justin were absolutely clueless as to what game Jax and Brenda were playing, but whatever it was, they both seemed happy so neither one of them gave it much thought.
*************************************************************************************************************************************************
Brenda sighed and closed her eyes, letting the sun's rays dance across her face and hair. She opened her eyes slowly and looked around her, wanting to preserve the happiness she felt at this moment forever. The garden where she was having afternoon tea with Juliet and Caroline was picturesque. The three women were seated at a small white rod-iron table surrounded by various flowers - red, pink, yellow, purple and white tulips, callowlillies, red roses, gardenias, tiger-lillies, snapdragons to name a few. Waitors had brought them tiny tea sandwiches, salads, fruits along with scrumptuous orange and cranberry scones with fresh whipped creme. They were having an afternoon snack because the Jacks' best friends, the Milton's had invited the family to a dinner/ball that evening. While Jax, Justin and Jerry had gone to the hospital with their parents, Juliet, Brenda and Caroline had gone to shopping at boutiques near the ranch. Brenda couldn't believe how close she already felt to both these women - especially to Juliet.
"I can't believe I ate all that." Brenda groaned, placing her hands on her stomach. "Yet I enjoyed every moment of it and I would eat it all again if I could." she laughed.
Juliet moaned. "And we're going to have a 5-course meal tonight. Oh my goodness - Mum and Dad are going to have to rolll me home."
"That would be a sight." Caroline giggled. "Can't you just see us all in our evening gowns, popping at the seems with Justin, Jax and Jerry rolling us up the driveway?"
Brenda rolled her eyes. "The scary thing is they would probably make a game of it. Which brother could get up the driveway first. Who had to push the heaviest load."
Juliet and Caroline joined in her laughter. "I don't know how the two of you do it." Juliet announced shaking her head. "My brothers are absolutely insane, and I can't imagine volunteering to live with any of them."
"Oh I see - " Brenda said smiling, "so you've decided to fall in love with Kieron who is oh so *normal* and low-key."
Juliet blushed at the mention of Kieron. "He's not nearly as crazy as Jax is Bren."
"No one is as crazy as my Jax." Brenda grinned and shrugged. "Except for maybe me. That's why we're so perfect for each other." Happiness shone from her eyes as she thought about Jax and how much she loved him. It still shocked her how strongly she felt about him. It had all come on so suddenly, and yet it seemed that she'd loved him forever. Juliet and Caroline looked at each other and smiled, appreciating the sappiness and romance of Brenda's comments and behavior as only women who are also in love could.
"Brenda - Brenda ....*sweetie* - are you almost done?" Jax attempted to shout through the bathroom door over the running water. He looked at his watch and tapped his fingers impatiently against the maple wood. It was already 7:36 p.m. and he and Brenda were supposed to be downstairs in ten minutes. They were going to dinner at the Milton's house, and Brenda had been in the bathroom for nearly an hour while Jax was standing outside waiting to shower, shave and get dressed. He was going to kill her. "Come on *sweetheart* this is getting ridicu-" Brenda opened the door suddenly causing Jax to fall onto the bathroom floor next to her feet.
"Jax I know I look beautiful, but there's really no need for you to grovel at my feet." Brenda teased, leaning down and helping him up.
Jax was prepared to give her a long lecture about bathroom sharing decorum, but when he saw her all thoughts except for how gorgeous she looked vanished from his mind. She was wearing the lavender dress she had bought at Wyndhem's with Juliet. The delicate silk seemed to melt on her body in all the right places, and the color set off her olive skin and hazel eyes perfectly. She wore simple silver sandals, and a diamond and silver clip held her hair back on her head. All her make-up was in pale shades - silvery white eyeshaddow, peach blush and pale pink lipstick that made her lips look pouty and sexy and altogether too kissable for Jax to resist. He was spellbound, and his silence worried Brenda, who bit her lip and asked nervously, "Jax - what's wrong?" she smoothed her hair and dress. "Is there something wrong with the way that I'm dressed? Because I can always change."
"No!" Jax practically shouted, startling her. "I mean no." he repeated softly. "You look like a goddess. I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful vision in my entire life."
A joyful smile lit up Brenda's face and eyes. "I'm sorry about taking so much time." she said apologetically. "I was unusually bad. I just wanted to look perfect since tonight is kind of our debut as a couple. I would never want to embarrass you Jax."
Jax brushed her cheek with his thumb. "Impossible." he whispered. "That is - impossible as long as you don't cookk or offer to demonstrate your camping skills I think we'll be safe."
Brenda did her excited little Brenda dance. "I am so excited. I feel like a fairy princess going to the ball."
"Well Cinderella - if you want to get to the ball on time, you'd better clear out of the bathroom or the prince is going to look like a pauper." he teased.
"Okay...okay...." Brenda gathered all her things off the counter and reluctantly left the bathroom. Smiling to herself she thought about how well things were going. She waited to hear the shower turn on, and then she crept over to the closet where she had left all the clothes she had bought with Juliet and Caroline when they'd gone shopping that afternoon. Finding the Victoria's Secret bag, she removed a sexy creme silk nightgown. A wicked smile spread across her face as she held it against her and looked in the mirror. Arching a slender eyebrow she giggled, "Jasper Jacks - you're toast. Wait until you see what's about to hit you."
*************************************************************************************************************************************************
When Brenda had teased Jax about feeling like Cinderella she hadn't realized how realistic her fantasy would truly be. The Milton's "dinner" involved over four hundred people, dining, dancing and sipping champagne under a candle-lit tent framed by mountains and the harmonious sounds of an orchestra. The food was divine, catered by a restaurant in Paris from which the Milton's had flown the food over. The tent was set up behind the Milton's enormous Victorian mansion. A staircase from the veranda of the second floor extended onto the plush green lawn and vines and ivy wrapped all around the railings making it look like an enchanted castle. The only thing keeping the evening from being absolutely perfect was the fact that Brenda and Jax, along with Kieron (who had flown in that evening), Juliet, Jerry, Caroline, Justin and his date Samantha were sitting with Katya Milton and her fiancee Andrew Bishop. Katya was everything Brenda disliked. She was strikingly beautiful in that All-American blond, blue-eyed way. Yet it wasn't her looks that bothered Brenda, it was her over the top fake sweetness, superior attitude, and the way that she looked at Jax like he was a piece of meat she was ready to pounce on. Apparentely, the dislike was mutual. Katya was used to being the belle of the ball, the woman every man wanted to dance with and every woman watched, envied and talked about. However, that had all changed the second Brenda walked down the long stair case on Jax's arm and made her entrance. Her beauty was astonishing, and she and Jax made a striking couple. More than her appearance however, it was the glow and sparkle that floated around Brenda that made everyone watch her. Everyone could see how in love she and Jax were, and the fact that Brenda had captured the elusive Jasper Jacks' heart made her even more mysterious and amazing.
Dinner had just ended, and Brenda was sipping her coffee while trying not to gag over Katya's gushing about her and Jax's childhood adventures.
"Oh and then there was the time that we built a tree house in my back yard. Remember Jax?" Katya shrieked, reaching across the table and touching his hand. "You were the husband and I was the wife and we had two kids - what were their names?"
"I really don't remember Katie." Jax mumbled, slowly drawing his hand away from hers. He glanced at Brenda out of the corner of his eye. She was smiling the most fake smile Jax had ever seen. He could see the fire flashing in her eyes. Clearly she and Katya weren't going to be best friends anytime in the near future which was perfectly fine with Jax. For as long as he could remember, Katya Milton had been a thorn in his side. As children and teenagers, she used to follow him around, claiming to their friends and families that they were an item and practically throwing herself at him. If that wasn't bad enough, as an adult she had gotten worse. She was now engaged to Andrew Bishop, a Wall Street businessman who knew nothing about honesty or kindness. He had tried numerous times to ruin the Jacks' family's reputation, and he was the most egotistical man JAx had ever met. He and Katya were two peas in a pod.
Katya appeared unphased by Jax's remoteness. "I think our little girl's name was Katherine and the boy was.....hmmm....." she tapped her fingers against her cheek thinking.
Before Katya could continue her ramblings, she was interrupted by Brenda. "You know Katya....as much as *you* may enjoy these little flashbacks in time - I think you need to remember that that's all they are - flashbacks of a pretend game you and my *fiancee* played when you were what? Six years old?" Brenda wrapped a possessive arm around Jax's shoulders and slid onto his lap. "Maybe you should spend a little more time thinking about *your* fiancee and less time reliving your childhood. Because Jax may have been your's twenty years ago, but now he's all mine and I'm not letting him go."
Katya's mouth dropped open and her blue eyes flashed with anger. Juliet, Jerry, Justin, Kieron and Caroline were all biting their lips to contain their laughter, and Jax was just looking at Brenda with a mixture of surprise/admiration/confusion in his eyes. Brenda turned to him, and stroked his face. "Maybe I should have warned you that I'm awfully possessive." she whispered, laughing. Jax shook his head and smiled despite his confusion regarding her enthusiasm about their "engagement." "You are a very bad girl."
Brenda giggled and rubbed her nose against his seductively. "I know. But you're so very good that we even each other out. And now that I've gotten all my hostility out, I promise to be a perfect angel the rest of the evening."
"Thank god for small blessings." Jax murmered, trying not to let the fact that Brenda's mouth was half an inch from his and looked altogether too kissable for him to resist.
Brenda noticed him looking at her lips, desire dancing in his eyes, and excitement rushed through her. Her plan was working. Seductively, she leaned into him and tenderly kissed his mouth, softly at first and then stroking his lips with her tongue until he opened him mouth and their tongues met together in an erotic dance that left them both breathless.
"Mmmm...." Brenda bit her lip and smiled, touching Jax's mouth softly.
"My thoughts exactly." Jax grinned at her. "I would say that all our practice has *definitely* made perfect." Brenda giggled and swayed against him in rhythm to the music.
"So Jax - have you taken Brenda camping in the mountains around your house yet?" Andrew interrupted the fairytale moment for Jax and Brenda. They both turned, and JAx felt immediately annoyed by the smug look on his face. Andrew wrapped an arm around Katya's shoulders and grinned an "I dare you" smirk.
"Oh I *adore* camping." Katya declared glaring at Brenda. "There are some women who just can't take the outdoors. You know the type - they can't imagine life without hairdryers or curling irons." she smiled at Jax. "Jax - remember how we used to go camping all the time with our families, and now Andy and I go for a week every summer."
Well that's very nice for the two of you." Jax replied. "So - when are you planning on getting married?" Jax attempted to change the subject, but Katya wouldn't let it go.
"Do you like camping Brenda?" she asked, a wicked smile spreading across her face.
He rested his head on Brenda's and smiled. "Brenda has many talents, but camping -"
"is my best." Brenda jumped in and finished his sentence.
"Really?" Katya smiled cattily. "Jax - is this true?"
Jax tried to close his mouth which had been gaping open after Brenda's announcement. He could hardly believe she had just lied about camping *again*. Didn't this woman ever know when to let up? Couldn't she just give in to defeat once? No she couldn't. Jax realized, which was exactly what he liked about her the most. Glancing at Brenda he could see the eagerness on her beautiful face, and eventhough it went against his better judgement, he smiled and announced, "Definitely. I would have to say that Brenda takes camping to a whole new level."
"Well - that's intriguing." Andrew said looking back and forth between Jax and Brenda suspiciously.
"It certainly is." Katya murmered narrowing her eyes. "I for one feel that I must experience this "new level". What do you say the four of us go camping tomorrow? Andrew - I know you're free."
"I don't know....." Jax looked at Brenda helplessly.
Brenda kissed his cheek, and stared at Katya, ignoring the looks both Juliet and Kieron were giving her across the table. "We'd love to."
"Great. It's a date then." Katya rubbed her hands together. "Andrew and I will meet you and Jax at your house in the morning. We'll bring the food - you guys bring everything else. Thatt is - " she arched an eyebrow. "If you think you can handle all that."
Brenda glared at her. "Don't you worry your pretty little head about us. We'll be fine."
Jax could feel the tension growing between Brenda and Katya at an alarming rate. He wanted to rescue her before Katie said something that would trigger a war. "Hey - " he whispered in her ear. "Would you do me the honor of dancing with me?"
Brenda smiled dreamily at him and touched his face lightly. "I thought you'd never ask."
Jax took her hand and led her onto the dance floor where the song The Way You Look Tonight was playing.
Some day when I'm awfully low
When the world is cold
I will feel a glow
Just thinking of you
And the way you look tonight
Oh but you're lovely
With your smile so warm
And your cheeks so soft
There is nothing for me but to love you
Just the way you look tonight
Jax gazed down at her, thinking about how perfectly she fit into his arms and how good she felt to hold. Her cheek was resting on his chest and her eyes were closed as they slowly swayed to the music. There was something so natural about dancing with her and being with her and hell - being engaged to her that Jax was scared. Brenda seemed sense his tension, because she opened her eyes and smiled up at him. Jax lost himself in her dark eyes and suddenly all the fear and doubt he had only a second before disappeared. He listened to the words of the song and thought about how beautiful and perfect she was. Jasper Jacks, who had always mocked love songs, was surprised to realize that the song described exactly how he felt.
With each word
Your tenderness grows
Tearing my fears apart
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose
Touches my foolish heart
You're so lovely
Never, ever change
Keep that breathless charm
Won't you please arrange it?
'Cause I love you
Just the way you look tonight
You're so lovely
Never, ever change
Won't you please arrange it?
'Cause I love you
Just the way you look tonight
Just the way you look tonight
"You know -" Jax said looking down at her and smiling,as they walked away from the dance floor, "you could have admitted to Katya that you hate camping. I was only teasing before about the embarrassing me issue."
"I know." Brenda admitted honestly. "I just couldn't let that witch win." Brenda wrinkled her nose. "She's awful Jax. And that fiancee of hers! Could the man buy a spine? All he does is sit around and nod his head and agree with her about everything she says. It's pathetic."
Jax laughed. "So am I to believe that you wouldn't like it I followed you around like a lost puppy, nodding my head and begging for a bone?"
Brenda shuddered at the thought. "I wouldn't mind you following me around...but I'd kill you if you didn't have your own ideas, opinions and personality. Oh well - it's going to be Katya's mistake." she got a devilished grin on her face and she looked up at Jax, her eyes sparkling with mischief, "Somehow I'm going to teach her a lesson she'll never forget."
"Uh - oh. Bren - what are you going to do?" Jax smiled, trying to look stern.
"Nothing." Brenda leaned forward and kissed him sweetly on the mouth. "Let's just say that she may be good at playing games, but I know I'm much better. In fact -" Brenda ran her fingers through his hair and grinned a self-satified and sexy smile. "I'd say she isn't even in my league." Giving him a passionate kiss, Brenda turned on her heel, and went over to the bar to talk to Juliet leaving a spellbound Jax wondering if he'd ever know what she was going to do next.
*****************************************************************************************************
"It has to be in here somewhere!" Brenda shouted, digging through her black leather duffle bag and tossing items out onto the floor.
"What is it exactly that you're looking for?" Jax asked curiously. He was sitting on the bed watching her search for some missing item. The same item that she'd been searching for ever since they had returned from the Milton's party over 45 minutes ago. She had practically flown out of the limo and up the stairs into their bedroom. Changing into her flannel pajama bottoms and t-shirt with a speed Jax had never seen a woman possess, she'd immediately begun opening and closing drawers, thrashing through the closet, and now she was tossing random possessions out of her bag. "Brenda...." Jax murmered, trying to get her attention. He received no response. She was in such a zone that all she could think about was this thing she was looking for. "Hey!" he cried, ducking just in time to avoid being smacked in the head by a flying hair dryer.
"Here it is!" Brenda jumped up clutching a yellow book and smiling broadly. "Thank god I forgot to unpack it after Colorado. Oh honey - are you okay?" Brenda looked at Jax concerned. "I'm sorry that I kind of freaked out. It's just that in order to not completely humiliate myself tomorrow this was sort of essential." she turned the book over so that Jax could read the cover.
"The Complete Guidebook to being a Girlscout?" Jax read aloud increduously. He burst into laughter. "You've got to be kidding me!?"
"I don't see what's so funny about this Jax." Brenda pouted.
Jax tried to control his laughter. "Oh honey - I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing at the situation." he smiled at her and raised an inquisitive eyebrow. "Did you buy this after you told me that you were an award-winning girl scout?"
"Maybe." Brenda said sassily, walking over to the bed and lying back against the pillows, opening the book and preparing to read.
Jax followed her and rested on his side watching her. "Maybe....."
Brenda sighed, and closed the book. "Okay - yes. Yes I bought the book after I told you I was an award-winning Girl Scout. Yes, I lied when I told you this, and now Yes I'm going to read this entire book tonight even if I have to stay up all night long to do it. By tomorrow morning I am going to be an expert on camping. Just you wait and see."
Jax smiled at her determination. "I'd never doubt you."
Brenda just grinned at him, "Thank you, but now if you would stop talking to me - I have a lot of work ahead of me." She settled against the pillows, and returned to reading her book.
Smiling to himself, Jax remained on his side, watching her read and moving his feet until the touch hers. He then proceeded to slowly slide one of his feet up against her leg, holding back his laughter as he watched her trying to remain focused on her book. After a moment of torture, she slammed the book shut and glared at him. "Jax. You *have* to stop distracting me. This is very important."
"I'm sorry." Jax said sounded not sorry at all. "But this is really your fault. If it wasn't for our pretend engagement then you'd be alone in your room, reading quietly and in perfect peace. But - instead, here you are, in my bed, and you can't blame me for not being able to resist your intoxicating charm."
Brenda rolled her eyes. "You are such a flirt."
Jax winked at her and smiled.
"And -" Brenda pushed him away from her, nearly shoving him on the floor. "Normally I love it, but right now - you have to leave me alone." she got off the bed, and took his hand leading him over to his desk across from the window. She pulled out his chair, and sat him down. "Now why don't you sit here and do some work - make a couple billion, take over a nation or major corporation, overthrow a government - whatever pleases your fancy right now. Just occupy yourself for a few hours."
Jax went along with her proposal for a few moments. "You know -" he said to her from his desk, leaning back in his chair. "I don't know if this is really fair. I mean - this is my room and you're in *my* bed where I would really like to be sleeping now. Yet - I have to sit here, in this hard chair, because you need to read some girlscout guidebook so that we can go camping tomorrow and humiliate some woman that you're never going to see again!?"
"What are you saying Jax?" Brenda asked frustrated, trying to keep reading.
"I'm saying that i'm going to sleep." Jax got out of his chair and climbed into bed, getting under the covers and lying down.
Brenda was quiet for a few moments and she thought about what Jax had just said. "Jax...." she nudged him, trying to stir him. "Sweetie - what do you mean I'll never see Katya again? Is she going away?"
"Hmmm...." Jax murmered.
"Because of course I'll be seeing her. I mean - after the wedding I'll have to see her at all family events and at holidays. Oh god - she may even have to *be* in the wedding." Brenda wrinkled her nose in disgust. "if that happens I'll have to pick yellow dresses." she giggled. "Katya would look awful in yellow, and Robin and Lois would look absolutely spledid."
Jax opened his eyes slowly, wondering if this monologue was really occuring or if he was only dreaming it. "Bren - what wedding? We're not really getting married. Remember?"
Brenda murmered something to herself, burying her nose in the book.
"What did you say?" Jax asked suspiciously.
"I said - I know. I was just teasing. Now get some sleep - you seem really tired." Giving him a quick kiss on the cheek, Brenda turned off his light and moved onto her side so that she wasn't disturbing him.
"Goodnight." Jax said, resting his head onto his pillow and hoping that he slept a little better that night. Heck - he couldn't sleep any worse. Brenda was acting really strange he thought. And he could have sworn that she'd murmered "we'll see...." not "I know." Oh well. Jax was too tired to worry about it - he would think about it tomorrow.
