GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING MINUTES

For 11 APRIL 2003

1.  Meeting called to order at 14:05.

2.  March minutes were reviewed by the General assembly and change was
requested on new business under the scholarship increase to read:
"Motion was made to increase the amount to $8,000.00 this year, and be
revisited next year for an increase."  Change will be and made minutes
were then accepted.  Treasurer report was provided. 

3.  Committees:

    a.  Retirement/Transfer Committee Report:

    b.  Social Committee Report:
        CTMC Anlage was not present and the information from the March
        minutes were highlighted:  
	· 18 April Right Hand Person event at Club Meade:  Event will be
          held in the Brass Lounge from 1300-1600.  RSVP to Crystal Quick,
          Carla Hester, or Megan Anlage.  Munchies are provided but it will
          be a cash bar.
	· 30 May Golf Tournament Fundraiser/Social event:  Steve Orologas
          (240) 373-3191, Steve Pitzen (240) 373-3630, and Lou Tardona
          (240) 373-3246 will be running the Golf Tournament.  Cost will be
          $40.00 per person.  It will be 4 man teams.  Addition costs include:
          $5.00 for 2 mulligans and 1 forward tee person, and $1.00 per foot
          for string.  Megan Anlage and Crystal Quick will be coordinating
          the non-golfing events at a pavilion to include the B-B-Q.  Golfers
          will join the fun after the tournament for the awards ceremony.
	· June Hail and Farewell:  This one will be conducted during the
          evening hours so retiree’s and family members can attend.  POC is
          Mark Smith.
	· July Family Event:  POC is Crystal Quick 
	· July/August Social event to welcome the Selectees.
	· 5 September Dinning In:  POC is Gus Woolheater and Sue Ward
	· September Khaki Ball:  POC’s are Tim Echeverio and Sonny Montgomery.
	· October Halloween Party:  Researching at this time.
	· Nov Hail and Farewell:  Late November/early December due to two
          holiday weekends in Nov)
	· 5 or 12 December Holiday Party:  Researching at this time.

    c.  Sports/MWR Representative Report:  
	· Friday, 25 April at 1400:  10K run at the Golf Course.  Meet in the
          parking lot by the female softball field on Mapes. 
	· Intramural Softball Practice is Tuesday, 29 April and Thursday,
          01 May at 1800 on Broadfoot field.   The season starts on 6 May.  

    d.  Community Action Report:  
	· Not present at meeting.  
	· Receiving very little support.
	· Scott Nagle joined the committee

    e.  Fundraising Committee Report:  
	· March fundraising the CPOA Polish Pottery sale generated $750.00
	· Car washes are scheduled for 30 May, 27 June, and 29 August at the
          Burger King on Fort Meade time is TBD.
	· CPOA Cookbook 50 recipes thus far.  Deadline is 25 April.  E-mail
          inputs to Bonnie Seevers at Jbseevers@blazenet.net
	· The new CPOA coffee mugs are in and can be purchased at the May 9th
          CPOA meeting.

    f.  Scholarship Committee Report:

	· Applications are in.  Did not receive any applications from Laurel
          again.  Eleven applications received and the interviews are set for
          23-24 April.

5.  Old Business:  NTR

6.  New Business:

    a.  Chris Nicosia motioned to spend $1600.00 on new shirts.  The motion
        was tabled to allow time for CPOA members to come up with a new design
        that will be voted on at the May 9th meeting.  
    b.  Jodi Hanlon asked for assistance with her daughters (Stephanie)
        Ms. JR Teen Baltimore pageant.  It was decided to pass the hat.
        A total of $189.00 was collected.

7.  Good of the Order:  

    a.  Tim Echevario asked for input and help with the Khaki Ball.  They are
        looking for a guest speaker and any recommendations are welcomed.
