VACATION

One week's vacation per year by parents is allowed with the week paid at 1/2 the weekly rate. Any additional vacation is to be paid at the full rate. One  month vacation notice is required.

ILLNESS AND MEDICINE

I will provide care for minor illness such as a minor cold. The provider will administer medications provided.  Care for a child who has diarrhea, vomiting, or has a temperature of 101 degrees or above. Please read the sick child policies for more details. Any child who has a contagious illness will not be taken care of  by day care provider.

Parents will notify the provider when the child is not attending due to illness. If a child becomes ill or is injured at the day care home and the parent cannot be reached, the physician on the Emergency Form will be contacted.

Scratches and scrapes are inevitable when children play. These injuries will be treated with antiseptic and a Band-Aid. With anything more serious the provider will inform you at once.

SICK CHILD POLICY

Please do not bring your child if they have a fever of 101 degrees or above, is vomiting, has diarrhea(more than one time) or a contagious illness. If they are too sick to go outside they are too sick to be in childcare. If your child has a common cold (slight cough, sneezing, runny nose and mild temperature) you can bring them to daycare. However, if the child reaches a point when they require constant attention, will not play, cries all the time, whines and wants to be held constantly, then they need to be kept home. They are too sick to be at daycare. If your child requires prescription medication, we ask that you keep them at home for at least 24 hours or until they are no longer contagious.  All medications must be in the original container with the pharmacist’s label. If a child is brought sick to daycare, the parents will be phoned and asked to pick them up. The child will be isolated until a parent arrives. This is to try to prevent the other children from getting sick. We will occasionally have in-care sick days. When all the children are sick at the same time it is pointless to keep them separated. These precautions will be taken when necessary. If you have any questions please ask.

MEALS

Children will be served breakfast no later than 8:30 AM, an AM snack, lunch no later than 12:00 PM, and a PM snack. These meals will be served by the provider and are included in the fees. All meals are USDA approved and regulated by the state. Please do not send gum or candy. Grace is said before each meal.

DISCIPLINE

Discipline consists of “time-out”, “redirection” and gentle but firm “limit-setting”. If appropriate, the provider will talk to the child about why the action occurred and what would be more appropriate behavior.

MISCELLANEOUS

One special toy a day is allowed, however, the toy may get lost or broken. A child should not bring toys that cannot be shared. We do occasionally attend special school functions at Buckhorn Elementary if a parent decides not to allow the child to participate in a field trip the parent is responsible for finding alternative care. There will be no fee reduction.

TERMINATION

The provider may terminate child’s enrollment effective immediately if the child’s behavior threatens the physical or emotional well-being of one or more of the other children at the day care home. Two weeks notice is required for termination of child care by either party. If a parent does not wish to give prior notice of termination, then two weeks' rates must be paid in full.

PARENTS

Parents are welcome to come by anytime during day care hours to check on the child care that is provided. Contract will be reviewed and signed annually first of September.
