| III. Let us open our eyes to the light that divinizes! (Rule of St. Benedict, Prologue: deificum lumen). In the element air, visualized as a green sky, the rays of the divine energies penetrate matter and illuminate the soul. In Baptism, the new-born Christian is reborn; in Confirmation, we experience Photion, divine illumination, which effectuates, during the years of a life of prayer and asceticism, the wondrous transformation of creature into Creator called Theosis. |
