Zelda Background

The Zelda series was created by Shigeru Miyamoto. The first game Miyamoto created was "The Legend of Zelda" for NES in 1987. It was about a boy named Link who has to recover the eight pieces of the Triforce in order to save the Princess Zelda from the evil clutches of Ganon. It is sort of like "The Ocarina of Time" for N64.

The next game Miyamoto created was "Zelda 2: The Adventures of Link" for NES in 1988. In this game Link has to restore the crystals to their statues and awake Princess Zelda from an enchanted sleep.

In 1991 Miyamoto created was "A Link to the Past" for SNES. Link has to recover the eight pieces of the Triforce from Ganon. It's a little like the first one, except in this game you can travel through time.

The next game he created was one of the most popular. It was "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" in 1993 for Game Boy. In the fourth journey our hero shipwrecks on Koholint Island. Marin, a local native, rescues him. Link sets off to awaken the Wind Fish.

The next and the most recent is "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time". In this game Link has to save the princess and restore peace to Hyrule.

There have been rumors going around that there is going to be a new game coming out called "Zelda: Gaiden". It is planned to come out this year in November, so start saving up your money!
