More about Henry Urton father of Gertrude
Henry, Gartrude's father had a brother named Thomas who
married Elizabeth Bate 2nd Jun 1578 at Norton, Derbs, a widow of Jordanthorpe.
There was also John Urton alias Steven of Lightwood who had a
daughter Elizabeth who married Thomas Kirk of Anston 1 July 1618. I think this
is also a brother to Henry.
There are a lot of Urton's from Norton which can also
be found on the IGI files at familysearch.com
Although there is no family connection to Anthony Babbington, Henry Urton brought land from Babbington who was famous for trying to get Mary Queen of Scots out of Wingfield Castle in the 1500's. They tried to replace Elizabeth1 with Mary Queen of Scots. You can look him up online and read the interesting story behind it.
Henry Urton's father was John Urton the reverend of Lightwood or Norton church. There is only a mention of him in the book called Chantryland. According to this book the Urton's owned land next to the Parker family and both were quite well off. I think there was even a marriage between these families at one stage or another. Henry was born about 1520 and died about 1591.
