The headstone is very old and has chipped away some of
the writting. I wrote to Mrs Pamela Kettle who wrote the book on the parish
records from Sutton Cum Duckmanton and she has told me what the headstone
says.

Here lieth the remains of John Glossop who died 8th December 1774
aged 45 years. Also the remains of his widow Sarah and afterwards wife
of Thomas Sails who died November 19th 1802 aged 59 years. Also the remains
of Ann, daughter of the above named Thomas and Sarah Sails who died December
30th 1811 in the 30th year of her age.
