I have more information on this family. It happens that 4 generations further back there was Hannah Norbrook who was a coloured girl. She came from Tunstall Suffolk and her father was apparently a slave brought over from Jamaica. This would be interesting to find out more but the only site with information that could help was not free and there is limited resources. The Suffolk records office does have a pamphlet on Asian and blacks and this is where I got my info. It also mentions Hannah as being a negro girl and the vicar who entered her baptism details wondered how long it would take for the colour to wash out by inter marrying with whites.
