Her father Richard Rogers a council employee married Mathilde Bridges.
They had - 10 children (6 boys, 4 girls (One son was killed in the war).
Myra’s grandfather was John Rogers who was married to Margaret Allison.
Myra’s mothers parents were Joseph Bridges who was married to Sarah Ann
Sedgwick.
Myra was a good singer and often sang with local choirs and the like. She
had very long hair but always had it tied up in a unique bun shape.
Hilda, Albert, Stanley and Alex
who lived to nearly 100, he was a farrier and was very strong. He was
capable of putting his body under a clydesdale horse and lifting it off
the ground in order to shoe it. Another brother Charlie never married.
Both Alec and his
father Richard Rogers worked for the council with a horse and dray
delivering screenings etc. Myra born 12/2/1899, Sadie,?,?. Mathilde’ (Grandma
Rogers ) death was incorrectly registered in 1964 as 99 years of age in
Coburg . She actually lived to 101 years of age and received her telegram
from the Queen on her 100th birthday.
George died of a heart attack during a family outing to Kilmore on
the 25th of May 1971. He is buried in Fawkner cemetery.
Myra died in 1977 in the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital aged 78 her
ashes were scattered.
