This paper intends to use knowledge of software project management for ensuring software quality to solve and remove the problems occurred during the software development for a computer-based customer information system.
First of all, the management strength and weaknesses of this project are listed after a careful analysis of all activities during the development. According to all the weaknesses, several recommendations to resolve these weaknesses are proposed i.e. the CoCoMo II, the improvement of software process, and the southernSCOPE method. For each recommendation, its overall introduction, cost, and which problem it can solve are discussed. At last, a general evaluation of these recommendations is given by comparisons in the aspects of measurement method, cost, and solved problems.
