This paper is an assignment of the subject "Software Projects Management"(SPM) of my M.Sc. degree course, which was assigned by Mr. Prof. Dr. M Chester of "University of Wolverhampton". From it was assigned until the deadline of September 29th 2002, I have about two months time to read, learn and write. This paper records what I understand and what I think of Software Quality Assurance (SQA).
This paper intends to give you an overview of Software Quality Assurance for Software Projects Management and emphasises to introduce the main methods to control the software quality during the software production.
Chapter 1 will give you a rough introduction for Software Quality Assurance. At first a history review of software development, then the main problems occurring during the software development process and their reasons will be listed respectively. Thereout this paper imports the definition and role of the software quality for SPM, and the main lifecycle for a software projects will be introduced as well.
In Chapter 2, the detailed methods to control software quality will be illustrated. As the meaning of quality for product, software quality has already acted an important role for software industry since software became a kind of product. Software development has several specific phases, all the activities during the different phases can lead to problems of software quality. This paper offers a detailed description to let you know how to control the software quality during the different phases and activities of software development.
Lastly, a summary for this paper will be given, which review the main methods for Software Quality Control and the meaning of SQA for a successful Software Projects Management.
