COUNTRY MUSIC

The above pic was taken at one of our yearly 'hoe downs'

I enjoy listening to, as well as playing and singing country music.

Entertaining at the 'Palmerston Pub'

I belong to the Otago Country Music Club, who on the first and third Wednesday nights of every month meet at the Mosgiel Tavern (1st)and then on the 3rd at Heffernans hotel in South Dunedin to 'show off''our various talents. We have our own club rooms for functions and practices not far from central Dunedin in the township of Outram.

Pic taken of Norm trying to either suck or blow a didgeridoo at a fancy dress at our club rooms.

GUITARS....

I personally have six guitars, two Suzuki 'wide necks' with nylon strings, a Kawai accoustic steel string, an Ovation Celebrity deep bowl of silver tonings, and an old Jansen solid deck (made in New Zealand) that I have spent a bit of time on 'trying' to restore to its former glory.Jansens were quite a popular guitar during the 1950-60's.

Recently I was given an accoustic/electric guitar that has no makers name on it. It had up until the time that I got the thing lived in a farmers barn where some rats had made a nest in it,but even for all its rough tough living the thing has come up looking pretty good. I have left it with one of the local shops here in Dunedin to tidy up the electrics a bit - its hanging up on his wall there and he reckons that it has been a good talking point, with quite a few people showing an interest in it. The only mark on it is something that resembles a spider
