I don't mind if you share in online groups to learn PSP as that's what I write them for ~ Enjoy If you have any questions please email me at JPISME2

I was asked to write a tutorial on how to get different colors when using a brush tool. I really liked the water color effect I got from doing this. This is the brush I'm going to use in this tutorial.

Open a new image 300X300, transparent.  Set your foreground color of choice, I chose light gray so I could see the image but its still somewhat transparent. Next I want to select the brush that I will be using so I click on the brush icon  and click on the tool icon on that window and click custom....this will allow you to pick the brush of your choice. As far as the settings go, 255 is the largest size, and the Opacity the larger the number the darker the brush image.

I'm going to start with the leaves first.
Once I have my brush outline on my original image....I take my freehand tool...
and I outline in sections what I want to color first.

Now on the flood fill, I set the Opacity to 50 because I don't want it to fill up the section completely with color I just want it to shadow my area.  That is a matter of preference here, you may want to fill the whole area with color but I just want a light shading in this area.

examples of the difference below...
with Opacity set to 50

Opacity set to 100...see the difference????

Now, I will select another area to shade until I'm completely finish with that color, then I start the next color and complete all color.

Now, for the last color.....

This can be done I'm sure an easier way, but I liked the water color effect I got doing it this way.
So since I wrote this tut for all you to see how this was done....Now I want to see your creations!!! LOL

That's it ~ Hope you have fun !!

Hugs,

Janice
