Wooden Shelf

By: Rocheki

This tutorial uses PSP 7, but can easily be done in PSP 6

Please be gentle.. this is my very first tutorial!

Start by opening a 500x500 transparent image.  I like to have plenty of room to work and you can always make it smaller, but you can't make it bigger...lol.  Make a rectangle like this and flood fill with your choice.

Then go to EFFECTS/INNER BEVEL.. I used these settings, but you can use your own..

Deselect and add a new raster layer... change the selection tool to a rounded rectangle and draw one like this...

Flood fill like the first one and inner bevel using the same settings.  Before you deselect this one, while the ants are still marching, click on the bar of the image and select copy, then paste as new image which gives you a copy of the image you just made... not sure what you'd call it.  After you've made the copy, deselect the original and go to LAYERS/MOVE DOWN and slide it up under the shelf like this...

Now.. get the copy that you made and resize it 95% and do the same thing... LAYERS/MOVE DOWN and slide it under the other one..

Add a new layer, change the selection tool back to rectangle and make another rectangle starting at the corner and go all the way acrossed like this..

Flood fill and inner bevel as before... you should end up with something like this... then merge visible

Almost done... all that's left are the pegs, but they're optional.. Open a 50x50 transparent image.  Change the selection tool to circle, draw a small circle , flood fill and inner bevel as follows.  (The only thing I changed on the inner bevel was the shape.. )

Add a drop shadow using these settings...

Once that's done, copy and paste as new layer 4 or 5 times.. whichever you prefer..

To hang things from the pegs.. put whatever it is on the board.. then move the peg over it..

add tubes if you like, then merge visible, and you're all done!!!
HAVE FUN!!

Below is my creation :)

NOTE: we received a nasty letter from someone who claimed to be the author of one of the tutorials on our site, the ACTUAL author is a longtime KNOWN friend of one of our authors.
