Candido

Latin percussionist Candido was already succesful in the 1960's on the Bluenote label. Signing to New York's Salsoul disco label in 1978 yielded two great disco-jazz albums, the first of which includes the all-time disco classics "Thousand finger man", "Jingo" and "Dancin' and prancin'". The LP "Candi's funk" also includes "Samba funk" (released on 12").

There is no US 12" of "Thousand finger man" although this was released on Canadian Salsoul. The first UK 12" pressing of "Jingo" was on Salsoul, but was soon re-released on the label Excaliber.
