Disco Tex & the Sex-o-lettes

Very popular studio group of the mid-1970's. Puerto Rican "Sir Monti Rock, III" - AKA the lead singer Disco Tex - appeared in "Saturday Night Fever" as the DJ. Signed to Kenny Nolan's Chelsea label in 1974.

Disco Tex first hit it big in 1974 with international early disco smash "Get dancin'" (later covered by Van McCoy. The follow-up hit "I wanna dance wit' choo" was also a big success although it was really just more of the winning formula.

The group is heavily 1920's / 1930's styled, especially in "Boogie flap", their strongest disco track. Shame both the single and LP version of this song are live; the recording quality isn't too good.

Look out for the rare and early promotional "For Disco DJ's only" sampler of the album "Manhattan Millionaire".
