Eddie Drennon

"Let's do the latin hustle" was one of the major disco crazes in 1975. The US 12" was on Friends & Co. records and was mixed by Tom Moulton (it's dated 1975 but was pressed in 1976). "Latin hustle" charted highly in the British charts in that year, and was released on Pye records in the UK. Eddie later left Friends & Co. records and moved to Casablanca, recording a very disco-friendly album, including "Disco jam", "Stomp your feet", "Can you dig it", and his unique version of Duke Ellington's "It don't mean a thing (if it ain't got that swing)". There is no 12" from this album.

"Let's do the latin hustle" was covered by the Young Sisters and also the M & O band.

Eddie also wrote for Friends & Co. label-mate Esther Williams.
