Evelyn Thomas
Ian Levine, who produced many disco acts on the Avi label in the late 1970's
(including Barbara
Pennington, wrote for black vocalist Evelyn Thomas. Switching to the
Casablanca label in 1979 but staying with writer Levine, Evelyn had disco
success with "I wanna make it on my own". From the same LP, listen for
"It's the magic in your touch".
Evelyn continued recording dance music into the 1980's and is probably best
remembered for her 1984 dancefloor anthem "Hi Energy".
