George Benson
Male vocalist and guitarist who is regarded as one of the pioneers of
jazz-fusion in the 1970's. Working on Creed Taylor's CTI label with other
disco-jazz musicians such as David
Matthews and Eumir
Deodato, he produced the classic jazz-funk record "Good king bad",
which was also the first 12" on the CTI label. Later recording for Warner
Brothers, he wrote and produced jazz-fusion classic "The world is a
ghetto" and at the tail-end of the disco era "Give me the night".
There are also several UK 12" which are not on US 12".
