Jimmy James
and sometimes his Vagabonds. Jimmy had already recorded 1960's reggae classic
"Red, red wine" before he met UK disco producer Biddu
and recorded the funky "You don't stand a chance (if you can't
dance)". Songs like "Now is the time" were popular on the early
UK disco scene. His best album is "Dancin' till dawn", including
"I can't stop my feet from dancing", "Be what you wanna be",
"If you think funk is junk you're drunk", and... "Let's go
disco" (also recorded by Pye label-mates The
Real Thing).
