From 1977 Loleatta released many classic disco tracks like "Hit and run" (co-written by Norman Harris) and later "Love sensation" (by the sadly deceased Dan Hartman). She is also the featured vocalist on the Salsoul Orchestra's 1982 hit "Seconds". Highlights from the 1976 to 1980 period include the Conway & Felder disco classic "Catch me on the rebound", and the boogie classic "Greatest performance of my life".
"Love sensation" was later successfully covered in the 1980's by Black Box as "Ride on time". More trivia: apparently Loleatta gargles with hot Vick's Vapor-rub to keep her voice in shape!
Collectors watch out for the "For Disco DJ's Only" promo-only double pack - the only one issued on the Gold Mind label. "Hit and run" and "Catch me on the rebound" are mixed on 12 by Walter Gibbons; "The greatest performance of my life" is by Salsoul's Bobby "DJ" Guttadaro.
