Peter Brown

Miami disco artist Peter Brown signed to the Drive label (a sub-label of TK productions) for his first album "Fantasy love affair" in 1977. This includede his number one disco track "Do ya wanna get funky with me" - and the 12" version (on TK Disco ) was the first 12" single to go gold (sell one million).

The song is excellent with the middle segment, "Burning love breakdown" having a great bassline - this was extended as intrumental b-side - and wah-wah guitar sounds. (For your interest, the story is that this track was mixed by dubbing and overdubbing on a 4-track tape recorder in Peter's bedroom!)

The album also yielded "Dance with me", (featuring vocalist Betty Wright) - another big-seller and disco classic.

His next album was more electro-sounding, and included further disco hits like "Crank it up (funk town)".

Not to be confused with the Peter Brown of P&P records who working in New York with Patrick Adams.
