Thelma Houston

Big Motown star of 1970's rather than 1960's. Thelma's greatest disco hit was "Don't leave me this way", a cover of the version by Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes. It makes a great 12" single (one of the first commercially available 12" on Motown). Her follow-up hit "I'm here again" is very similar to this latter track.

If you like the Motown sound of the late 1970's you should also check out "Saturday Night, Sunday Morning". Her disco track "Love masterpiece" was used in the film "Thank God it's Friday".
