| Hood/Lighting- Your tank will need a lid to stop insects from crawling in and to stop your fish from jumping out! In most cases this 'lid' is called a hood, and contains the light. A light is not essential but does make watching your fish more enjoyable, also it helps the plants in yout tank to grow. if you are going to buy a light try to get a fluorescent tube. This does'nt give off as much heat as the incandescent bulb. |

| Gravel-This is used to anchor your plants and ornaments . You will need enough to cover all the bottom of your tank. You can get it in many colours-its up to you which you choose! |
| Tank- The glass in your tank (whatever its size) need to be atleast 6mm thick,maybe thicker at the bottom.When you buy your tank, make sure the glass is smooth and without scratches.Buy the largest tank tou can afford. |
| In ideal condition, a goldfish can live for 10 to 20 years. |
| Plants and Ornaments- These give your fish shelter from the sun, and from each other. They also offer hiding places. Live plants are a good idea because they offer a place for fish to lay there eggs. |
| Goldfish can grow up to 8 to 10 inches in healthy living conditions. |
| Dechlorinator-This is a liquid you can buy from your local pet store which stops the harmful chemicals in tap water from harming your fish. But always read the instructions, because too much of it could harm your fish. |
| Alge scraper- This is like a sponge on the end of a stick which you use to clean the inside of the tank with. The inside of Your tank will become diry as alge grows unless you clean it. |
| Bucket-This will be for carrying the water when cleaning out your tank |
| Syphon- this is a piece of equipment that sucks water and dirt up from inside your tank.It does not suck up the gravel. |
| Filter-this helps circulate the water and removes dirt. |
| Stand-this will be needed to place your tank on.Make sure it has a stable surface and is very strong |
