Chapter Twelve Notes

Ananda:'Kay, lotsa authors notes on *this* one... This chapter *really* truly *did* have a mind of its own, it practically wrote itself. Part of my motivation was to annoy the heck out of Daff (which, as you can see, succeeded *eg*).
Button is my visual for "Velvet Goldmine" [name of Ewan McGregor movie that inspired some of this, I was listening to the soundtrack the entire time I wrote this; also the name of a David Bowie song, as I later found out].
I *do* apologise if any male readers don't find Ráspia as attractive as we (err, well, *I*) find Reűic, but.. *shrug* I'm a teenage girl, alright?! *g* We hated the llama-song-thing ('least, *I* did, it was *hard*, dangit!), hence I wanted to contradict it, just for the fun of things: "The one-l lama is a preist. The two-l llama is a beast. And I will bet a silk pajama there isn't any three-l lllama!" It was originally a poem by some guy, I don't remember who.. Later on, the others may relate Reűic-stories, I don't know, it's up to them (tho Daff's planning to, I know).
Illustrations still to come.. ;)
I had a great time with this chapter, prolly *too* much fun, ehm... Yeah. I suppose I took on my darker side here, confronted my "evil" lecherous teenage thoughts, at least in part. Please don't think I'm just a sex-minded fiend or anything, though, I'm not any more than any other semi-normal teenage girl, I don't think. (An' sex is a part of life, right? *shrug*... save this discussion for a potential later rant...) I actually thought of a lot more to put in here than I wrote down, I figured it was long enough, you get the general idea. My clothes are definetly a form of personal expression for me, hence the frequent costume-changes. I'm also semi-schizophrenic or something, I think, I can be totally into one thing one day, and something completely different the next, Monkees or Star Wars or U2 or hippies or saving the world or...
Winston and Julia are from 1984, by George Orwell (for anyone who's not read it - AWESOME). Ormus and Vina are from The Ground Beneath Her Feet, by Salman Rushdie - this is not the last time you'll see it referred to, it's a great book, and actually, gave me a decent bit of inspiration for this chapter, as well. Piss off and die is one of Larry's fav phrases (or is it f--- off and die? one of the two, anyway). As for Naomi's snapping out of it with a U2 song.. that's actually what probably would really happen, I'd jump up like that and get all excited when I finally remembered it. ;) Ehm, a lot of this chapter is better if you read it slowly, I think, when I thought the stuff it was slower, things took longer...
Yeah, Gavin's had a rough past, you'll learn more in upcoming chapters... actually, his character was originally based on the covers of U2's "Boy" and "War" albums (pics of a young boy, Peter Rowan), his name I stole from Gavin Friday, a musician whose done stuff with Bono (also former member of the Virgin Prunes, who U2 hung about with when they were starting out).
I didn't mean to imply any particularly strong *thing* between Maik and Ráspia, he just happened to be the last one outside the Applebus.
Lyrics to "Alex Descends Into Hell for a Bottle of Milk (Korova I)" were written by Tommasso, a 13th century monk, tho I don't know the original title (if anyone does, kindly let me know!).
