Chapter Nine Notes
Ananda: Yeah, y'all've seen my reactions to this bit... X-Þ to Daffy...
Laurel: There was a reason that I brought in the whole angle on how the cells make you lose your memory, and it's due to a small glitch of Zinni's--though a very forgivable one, as she knew practically nothing about Bryan at the time. See, when Zinni wrote her chapter, she had Bryan and Aubrey talking in the cell, introducing themselves because they didn't know each other--but in fact the reality versions of Bryan and Aubrey not only knew each other, but were more or less friends, even having (as Aubrey points out) sat at the same table in lunch several times. At that point I was still trying to keep Bryan's character true to life (though I ultimately failed), so I decided I needed a way to straighten out that discrepancy. I was never annoyed about it, Zinni--it was a great excuse for a plot twist, and comes in handy in the next chapter in dealing with Comolrin and his guards.
