JOSH HARTNETT was born in San Francisco on July 21, 1978, but he and his family moved to St. Paul, Minnesota when he was just a baby. During high school he had a quite normal teenage lifestyle. He played in the football team, until he had an accident (he hurt his knee when he was 16) and was "forced" to enter his high school's theatre program, some say this was the result of a dare he took up with his friends. After he graduated, he entered the New York's SUNY - Purchase, but he didn't last for long, soon he was offered a role in the tv series "Cracker". Although it wasn't much of a hit, Harnett's acting career was reinforced by it. He also did several tv commercials and took part in some theatre plays. In 1998, his career took a big flip when he appeared as Jamie Lee Curtis' son in "Halloween H20: 20 years later". This movie became one of the top of its kind (teen horror movies) and push Hartnett's career even further. That same year, he starred in "The Faculty", this movie didn't do as well as the one before (the horror movies' mania was dicreasing), but his opportunities on other movie genres weren't going down as well, in fact.. he took part of a quite interesting movie called "The virgin suicides" (2000) where he showed his wonderful acting skills. Today, the success of "Pearl Harbor" has turned Josh into every girl's dream and we can be sure he will be seen in more amazing movies.
