Game of the Week

To be completely honest, both of these teams will have trouble making the Game of the Week, so I thought I would put them both up at the same time. There has been much talk about both of these teams, and much second guessing by other owners Bottom line was this was a scrappy, defensive battle between two guys who have a tendency to reach each others nerves. The trash talking by Tommy came back to haunt him as Trent Green came to play Monday night. Rose finally started Curtis Martin, and I think it was the right decision as C-MA went for 23 fantasy. TBerry was lead by the 26 of 59 year old Emmitt Smith, and the 13 of Marc Bulger. The bottom of T's lineup was just flat ugly with players like Paul Edinger, Jeb Putzier, and Tyrone Wheatley...all of whom combined for 9 fantasy. Rose still has questions at the WR position. After picking up Stokely, he still decided to go with the injured Kennison, and it deservingly cost you Rose. WOW.

Wow, what a battle. Good times watching MNF just hoping Jamal didn't go nuts, and he didn't. The Oilers took advantage of a huge game from Andre Johnson (20), and DeShaun Foster (16). The Saint connection was down abit this week, but did just enough. Tiki was the man for Brooks, going for 31 fantasy points against the Pack. Vick and Jamal were held somewhat in check, to give Ward the win.

It was close. Was being the key word. Hi Priest. That is why he was the #1 pick. 33 carries in the Monday nighter for the Reverend, and Tawes needed them. Throw in 2 TD's and you have a nice little night. Tom Brady was his normal solid performer with 22 fantasy, and Jimmy Smith even managed 14. Jake Delhomme lead the way for the Seahawks in the loss with 17 fantasy. Dunn and Portis combined for 24, but it wasn't enough in the end.

Cowbys Win! Cowboys Win! Not fun being the team that gives up a first win is it Nations? The Colt backfield of Edgerrin and Peyton combined for 34 fantasy in this one. Newly acquired Eric Johnson put 14 on the board Sunday night to solidify the win. The 24 from LT wasn't enough for ANations. Donovan came back to Earth a bit with 14, but having to start Mike Alstott was a major downfall. Allstott, Holt, and Fitzgerald all combined for only 8 points.

It's all about scheduling and luck in fantasy football, and this was the right week to take on the Moss-less 49ers. Although Lee Suggs was a nice suprise, and Marshall came to play with 17, Cedrick Wilson filling in for Randy could only Muster (brad) 2 fantasy points. Pardee was led by the 20 of Brian Westbrook and 14 of newly acquired Kurt Warner. The player of the game for the Eagles may have been Jason Elam kicking 13 fantasy points which endede up being the difference for them.

A bit of a let down for the Cards this week. Perhaps eyeing next weeks matchup, the Cards stumbled. Isaac Bruce was the only one to get to double digits (13), including only 16 combined from Ahman and Favre. The Dolphins had a decent week getting 20 from the solid TO, and 13 apiece from Duce Staley and Jeremy Shockey. Not bad considering Ashley Lelie put a 0 on the board for the Dolphins. Both teams throw this one behind them and move on to next week.

Emmitt Smith - 1995

After 3 weeks of quarterbacks, lets give the RB's some props. Rewind your clock back to 1995. We were fresh out of High School, and the Dallas Cowboys were owning the NFL. They were doing so behind the performances of Emmitt Smith. During the 1995 season, Emmitt racked up 1773 yards rushing and just under 400 yards receiving. But perhaps more impressive was the 25 TD's he had, pushing his fantasy average to 25 fantasy points per game!
