Game of the Week

The shootout in the Oil Field. Was it the home field advantage? Wow, what a game. Of course I'm a bit biased since my squad was in it, but when two teams combind for 205 points, you will make the game of the week. The Oilers were off to a good start with morning players like Corey Dillon, Shaun Alexander, and Tony Gonzalez all getting into the endzone. The Dolpins had one of the better performances of the week from Jeff Garcia. Garcia went for 37 fantasy, including a 99-yard TD strike to Andre Davis, and a 59-yard TD to Lee Suggs. It really came down to the Saints/Vikings Sunday nighter though. Duece ran loose for 80+ yards and 2 scores, but it was Aaron Brooks, Joe Horn, and John Carney who did the dead for Ward's boys. The late TD run by Brooks proved to be the difference in this one. The Oilers improve to 6-0, while the Dolphins fall to 2-4.

I sure wouldn't have picked this one. With Tiki and Jamal on bye, everyone had the Eagles in this one, everyone except Brooks. Two huge games from Mike Vick (26 fantasy) and Willis McGahee (17) proved to be the major difference, as Pardee couldn't manage to get a guy over the 17 mark. The Eagles were led by the 17 of Westbrook, 15 of newcomer Marcus Robinson, and the 13 from Steve McNaiar. Brooks also put two 0's on the board from Chris Cooley and John Hall...leaving everybody asking, "Who's Chris Cooley?"

"We just do enought to win", that was the quote from Portland GM Tommy Berry after the Packer win this week. It had to be a sweet win as he beat TC and also got to 4-2, winning the bet between him and Troy that Tommy would not reach 4 wins. The Pack was lead by newly acquired Ruben Droughns again this week. The Denver RB had 26 fantasy. TC was lead by the 21 of Clinton Portis, but his inability to get in the end zone again this week proved to be the demise of the Seahawks, who fall to 2-4, and in 3rd place in their division.

Tough week for the Cowboys as the Colts were on bye. To be honest, 52 is a more than most of us thought he would get. Tawes got a super performance from a familiar face. Mewelde Moore, who played for Tawes in college, went for 20 fantasy in the start this week. Looking at the margin of victory, he was the deciding factor. Priest only went for 17, but a win is a win. HR and his 3 WR set was actually decent as Keyshawn found the endzone for 13 fantasy, as well as David Patten who went for 11. Colts improve to 4-2, while the Boys drop to 2-3-1.

When you have a guy playing on Monday night, it's usually fun becuase your game usually depends on his performance. Usually. Not the case this week as Nations had Torry Holt going Monday night, and only needed 63 from him for the tie. The win last week has woken up the Pats. 4 guys in the 20's (Martin-28, Driver-26, Green-25, Taylor-22). That is tough to beat, but Nations has to be dissapointed in his squad. Faling to 2-4,McNabb didn't even break into the double digits category. The Patriots improved to 2-3-1, and are making a run.

Hi, my name is Dante Culpepper. In his first game in a 49er jersey, all he did was throw for 5 more TD's. That would be his 3rd 5-TD game of the season! 46 from him, and 22 from Lee Suggs were enough to beat the Cards this week. The Cards are reeling just a bit with injury concerns to Chris Brown. Apparent nerve issues limited the RB to 1st half action and only 5 fantasy. Ahman did break double digits though. The Niners moved into first place at 3-3, while the Cards fell 3 games off the pace at the same 3-3

Dante Culpepper - 46 Fantasy
  10 TD's in last 2 Games!
Jeff Garcia - 37 Fantasy
99 Yard TD pass for the Gay Baby
Curtis Martin - 28 Fantasy
More this year than all of last year
Mike Vick - 26 Fantasy
That's the Mike Vick we have been wanting

Artose Pinner - 2 Fantasy
  Dissapointing vs. GB Defense
Boo Williams - 0 Fantasy
  Should produce better in October
Warrrick Dunn - 1 Fantasy
Is he Dunn for the season?
Eric Johnson -2 Fantasy
  Back to reality

Dante Culpepper - 2004

What are we seeing here? Dante Culpepper just threw 5 TD's for the 3rd time this year. Guy has 18 TD's and only 3 picks in 5 games so far this season. Is Dan Marino's mark of 48 TD's in a season in jeopardy. We will have to wait and see, but to date, DC will get you a bit over 36 fantasy on average. Uh, I would take that!
