Game of the Week

I probably wouldn't have picked this one. We are talking serious points here. WOW. The steady Colts have put their early season troubles behind them and are definitely clicking. Priest Holmes had 43 fantasy, and by the way, that was in about a half. Combine that with 20 a piece from Jimmy Smith and Jerry Porter. What? Oh, and 19 from Mewelde Moore and only 15 from Tom Brady...that's how you get 122. Traut has to be pleased with the points, but a tough loss. He did get 34 from Ahman Green though. Is Ahman back? A big 16 from his boy Randy McMichael to go along with the combined 25 of the Cleveland Browns backfield, as Traut started both William Green and Lee Suggs. The major dissapointment came from Dante Culpepper. Dante only threw in 13 fantasy. Is he done? Not so fast, I'm sure he will bounce back, but not soon enough, as Traut is barely holding off the upstart Dolphins.

The Dolphins would fall into the category of a team that is turning it on. It has been a few weeks now that we have seen a new Dolphins team. Terrell Owens and Kerry Collins lead the Dolphins with 28 and 27 points respectively. Throw in 17 from Duece, and 12 from Thomas Jones and you see how we get a number like 102. On the other hand, I do sense some frustration from the Lions. They cannot seem to get everybody on the same page. 41 points from Donovan McNabb were wasted, a LaDanian Tomlinson only went for 10, and Torry Holt went for 0! The Lions need to regroup before the playoffs become a distant thought.

Welcome aboard the Mike Vick train. The ups and downs of Mike Vick have been a major frustration point for Brooks this year. The play of Tiki Barber has not however. Wow, 29 from the former Cavelier in the loss. The problem was that was the only player in double digits. Meanwhile, the Packers just keep on ticking, improving to 5-2 in their division. A great Monday night game from Chad Johnson was the real difference maker, but solid performances from Rueben Droughns, Marc Bulger, and Marvin Harrison have the Packers looking good, and the once doubters back-tracking a bit on their comments of the Pack.

Everybody loves to hate on the undefeated team. I don't think there was anyone pulling for the Oilers in this one, but they almost pulled it out. Rod Smith gave the Cowboys a scare on Monday night, but the thank you's go out to Mike Holmgren for calling 12 running plays for Shaun Alexander Sunday. The Cowboys were lead by a huge game from Peyton Manning. The former Vol went for 33. Edgerrin ran for 13, and rookie Kevin Jones chipped in 12. The Cowboys remained in a first place tie with the Patriots, while the Oiler over the Cards was trimmed to 2 games.

I just want to know who awoke the Patriots. Here they come. Of course it helped that Steve McNair got a 0 this week, but I don't know if that would have made a difference. The Pats were lead by the 20 form DJack, adn 19 from Fred Taylor. Donald Driver has to be a nice little suprise, as his 11 were definitely more than expected. Pardee was lead by the 21 points from the other GB WR, Javon Walker. Javon is the leading reciever in fantasy land right now. A bigger concern for the Eagles is their playoff eligibility. At the half-way point, look for the Eagles to be making a deal to propel them back among the leagues elite.

What's nice, is when your star player doesn't play, and you don't even need him. That was the case for the Cards this week as Randy Moss threw a gay baby curve ball by suiting up, but not playing. That's OK though, as Byron Leftwich went for 27 fantasy. That combined with the 12 from Roy Williams and Ryan Longwell were enough to get by the Seahawks this week. What was with Matt Hasslebeck this week? 9 points were all the Seattle QB could muster (brad) as the Seahawks saw a much needed win get by them.

Priest Holmes - 43 Fantasy
Uh, that was in 1 half.
Donovan McNabb - 41 Fantasy
How much does he love TO?
Ahman Green - 34 Fantasy
Is it the new arm pads?
Peyton Manning - 33 Fantasy
Reggie Wayne won't get any more balls

Randy Moss - 0 Fantasy
Suiting up for records is stupid
Boo Williams - 0 Fantasy
Second straight week in this spot
Torry Holt - 0 Fantasy
  How dissapointing has he been?
Santana Moss - 1 Fantasy
  1 year wonder?

Randall Cunningham - 1991

I don't care who you are, he would have been unreal to have on your team. Whether he was throwing balls to Fred Barnett or Calvin Williams, or perhaps dumping balls off to Keith Byars and Heath Sherman...or maybe just rushing for 50 yards a night along with his 250 through the air. Bottom line is Too Hot to Handle Randle was going to get you 28 points a week during this season.
