Friday Night
North Texas (-3)vs. UL-Lafayette
With the Spartans playing on Saturday night, I had to look elsewhere for my Friday night game. Why this one? Say the word Lafayette. How fun is it? Plus, wasn't North Texas the team from the movie Unecessary Roughness? Love that film. North Texas is actually decent by the way. They have a stud RB. OK, you got me, no clue here...all I know is I am taking North Texas here as Elle McPherson kicks 3 Field Goals, and Quantum Leap guy throws for 400 yards.
Saturday
Stanford (+10) @ Arizona State
Hey Traut, take your boys here! Stanford is not a good team, and it is tough to play in Tempe. To me, that equals atleast 10 points. Arizona State needs to finish strong to secure the 3rd place spot in the Pac-10, and land a nice little bowl game for themselves. Stanford is still trying to figure out what happened to Ty Willingham. I am all over the SunDevils in this one.
Notre Dame (+7) @ Tennessee
Seriously, how hard is it to root for the Vols in this one. Does anybody actually still enjoy Notre Dame Football? There will only be about 70,000 people at Neyland Stadium on Saturday...That's worth more than a touch boys. Tennessee is clicking and looking to move up in the BCS. With some help, they can still compete for the SEC Championship. Big win here for the Vols sets them up for a strong finish.
Kansas State (-5) @ Mizzou
Your probably talking to one of the biggest Mizzou fans in Marysville. Ok, that may not be much, but seriously, what has happened to them? Nice loss last week to a horrible Nebraska team and their season is all but over now. How's Troy? Bruce Snyder always has his teams hanging around doesn't he? With a win Saturday, KState is in the drivers seat to play Oklahoma in the Big 12 Title game. WOW. Take the Wildcats.
Kentwood (-5)vs. Stanwood
@ Everett Memorial Stadium
So you win the league, and you get to play Kentwood in the first round of the playoffs. Fun times. These two teams locked up ealy in the season in Stanwood. Kentwood walked away with a 20-14 victory. Kentwood has been in the playoffs recently, Stanwood has not. It is as simple as that. Experience wins over in this one as the Spartans are sent home for the year. Get out the basketball gear, practice starts next Monday!
