Ashland by Night Character Creation Rules

World of Darkness: All

* No combat powers (such as Potence) above 2 at creation.
* No Ability may be above 3 before freebies.
* Use standard starting character creation rules.
* Please avoid overly combat-focused characters. If your combat pool is 8 base, with an initiative of +7, and can get or is higher in either or both areas, you may want to reconsider your statistics.
* Please submit your characters to furc_by_night@yahoo.com
Vampire: the Masquerade
* Use basic creation rules, as Independent, Camarilla, or Sabbat.
* Max Generation is 4 dots for any Clan vampire. 3 for the Clanless Ones, Caitiff and Panders.
* Revenant-born Tzimisce (including Bratovitch) need to take the Revenant Disciplines Merit if they want to be allowed to use the Disciplines of their Revenant life.

Changeling: the Dreaming
* Chimera is restricted to 3.

Hunter: the Reckoning

Kindred of the East
* Rites may not be taken above 3 at creation.
* No Demon Arts above 2 at creation.
* Population cap at half Kindred population.
* Joss Binding for Dhampyrs is Banned.
Mummy the Resurrection
* Banned! Quit arguing over why, it's staying that way.
Demon the Fallen
* Allowed, but the Sword of Damocles is hanging over your head. Or in less poetic terms: The Storyteller(s) reserve the right to malign, maim, brutally smash, extract, and smite any Fallen character in the game.
* In addition to this, the Slayers, the Fallen of the Seventh House, are Restricted.
Ashland by Night House Rules
* 1s do not count on damage and soak rolls. 10s are not rerolled on damage and soak rolls.
* A 1 rolled on a "specialty" die still counts as a 1. 10s are rerolled perpetually on specialty dice. You do not have to reroll a 10 due to specialties if you do not want to.
* Strikes to the head will inflict bashing, lethal if a weapon (a bat, club) is used, or if supernatural methods are used (such as Potence 3, Strength 6, etc.)
* In the instance of a melee combat complication that would normally cause either a dice pool modification or a difficulty modification, such as flanking, biting, and so on, default to a dice pool modification.
For Vampire: the Masquerade
* A vampire may hunt for Blood once per night, with a Perception+Herd roll. Difficulty is usually 4, lowered by Fame. Having Dominate or Presence lowers the difficulty by one point each. A single die is rolled, as usual, and that is the amount of blood gained. Additional hunting may be made, one roll per hour of downtime.
* Torpor does not take effect immediately after the vampire is reduced past the Incapacitated level by lethal or bashing damage. At that point, the vampire will gradually regenerate, spending Blood as usual. This is the only thing they may do. If this vampire chooses against spending Blood to heal, or runs out of Blood and is still below Incapacitated, they enter torpor.
For Changeling: the Dreaming
* Reverie: A Muse may attempt to gain Glamour once per night with a Manipulation+Kenning roll, standard difficulty. They may only use this method once per night, however. Musing is not the most rapid way to gain Glamour.
* Ravaging: On the other hand, a Ravager may attempt to gain Glamour once per night with a Banality roll, standard difficulty. Unlike the Musing faerie, they may continue to hunt for Glamour, making a Banality check every hour spent in downtime.
* The difficulty for a changeling's cantrips is standard difficulty or the subject's Banality, whichever is higher.
For Kindred of the East
* Sharpened Senses allows you to pierce illusions such as Obfuscate up to a level equal to your Dharma rating.
* For the purposes of the P'o and soaking bullets, default to the rules found in the Vampire Storyteller's Handbook. This means even a Yang-balanced Cathayan may treat bullets as bashing, and the P'o can even resist such powers as Dementation and the like.
For Demon: the Fallen
* Demons may only spend 1 Faith per turn, unless stated otherwise.
Questions about these rules can be asked in the Furcadia dream, on the message boards, or even by e-mail.
For Experience
* Normally, 3 Experience is gained per week. This can go up and down due to good roleplay or poor behavior.
* All things are bought at New Rating.
* Unless otherwise stated, Rituals (such as those of Thaumaturgy, or the Garou) are bought at level*1 experience.
