Size comparison of G1 vs Modern Tfs

++++++++++++++++++++

Well, in my mind, being a 'Gee Wun' fan, the original Tfs always loomed larger in my mind. Bricks had pointed out the size problem between G1 toys (Galvatron being as tall as Metroplex, for example) which was explained (using the jetfire example) that the size of some G1 toys (and their being out of proportion) was sometimes due to their being made by different companies (never mind the fact that they almost *never* care enough about scale for figures when you want to put together a decent subgroup...grmble...). In any event, this got me to thinking about Animated Jazz, and how he seemed like such a small car. I felt cheated, ie, I didn't think I was getting my money's worth. After all, G1 cars were so much bigger and better, right?

Well, imagine my surprise when I pulled a sample of cars (vintage to present) together for this little shoot:

Yep, surprise... modern tfs are actually bigger.

This is probably why modern collectors don't hold the same high regard for G1 as we old school types do. After all, in terms of size, they're not bigger.

They are better, though.

G1 forever!
