Component and Motor Shops at Lamington Road Mumbai:

Following are some good shops. There are too many for general components, but these have their specialties, mentioned below.

Map of Lamington Road for Robotics parts
Map of Lamington Road in Mumbai, showing location of useful shops for Robotics and Electronics hobby

All shops marked with * are useful & rest are just shown for reference. The map is not to scale. Small roads attach to the path shown at many points, but have not been shown. (If any shop has been removed, please let me know. I haven't been to lamington since an year.)

Legend Shop Name Good For Comments
*2 Bombay Electronics DC & Stepper motors, DC geared motors Owned by a bit rude Sardarji. But has maximum variety of Motors. Geared motors are most popular. Sometimes he also has high-quality imported geared motors.
*3 Music Masters Variety of Limit Switches, Leaf Switches, PCB mount relays, Spring Loaded Switches, Displays The Spring-loaded switches are very useful to make a joystick like control-box for manually controlled robots (usually in level 1-2 contests of Yantriki).
*4 Gala Electronics All electronic components (on first Floor)
*5 Battery Shop Variety of batteries, of different Voltages, and Current ratings (rechargeable etc.), imported too. Another a bit rude fellow. But he can suggest good batteries if you specify your Voltage/current , size and rechargeable etc. (small tapri shop. You can find batteries all over the lamington road. But if you are looking for variety, this is the person.)
*6 Niki Semiconductor ICs, Microcontrollers, Memories One of the best source of various high-end ICs and Microcontrollers which you may not get elsewhere.

The right turn somewhere ahead from the main road, as shown, leads to the Automotive parts Market. There you could buy, Windshield Wiper Motors (of Autorickshaw) which have been modified to rotate fully. These motors could be used in Big Powerful robot drives. But in that market they are called "Servo Motor". Hence use this term when asking for it. (usually Rs. 350-450), Black in color. Though, of-course, scientifically it is not a servo-motor. And moreover, it is a current hogging and electrically very noisy motor.

Photo-Plot or Film Making for PCB:

Before making the films ask your PCB maker if they will need Negative of Positive type films.
