This is the album that got me hooked on the Pumpkins. They (mostly Billy) put their heart and soul into it. It has the best songs both lyrically and instrumentally (I'm not really one for electronic sound..I like actual instruments). All of the Pumpkin's albums are great, naturally, but Siamese Dream excedes them by far. |

Jesus Christ (God) - 09/28/98 Email:theholyshack@aol.com Location: Jeruselem | Comments: well my sons, with no offense to any other SP album, knowing that they will go down in history as being legendary, my favorite would have to be siamese dream. when i heard this album, i was hanging out with my good friend st. peter, and if you know him like i do, you'd know how much a slacker, punker, and most of all, grunge addict he actually is. when we got through SP's 2nd album, he was like, "holy fuckin' shit man! damn can these guys rock! why couldn't of you created them on like the 2nd day 'er somthin' man! goddamn!" and i was like, "well you know i was kind of busy that day man!", and he was like, "and that d'arcy chick! damn is she one sweet peice of meat!", and i was like, "dude! man, i know, i'll stick my crooked one up her any day!!! shit!". the rest of the night we head-banged and played air guitar listening to siamese dream over and over and over again. i think that i've blessed the world by giving smashing pumpkins. no need to thank me. you know whos a real PUSSY? satan!!! he listens to shit like dave matthews band and matchbox 20. what a dip shit! oh well. thats why his poor soul is banded to hell. god bless you all. Anyways, my favorite Pumpkins album is Adore becuse it really represents the present time- and the kind of music that we should be hearing from them (and other rock bands) now. We should not still be hearing songs that sound like they belong on Gish or Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie because rock music is changing (well some is. some people just want to stay the same) and this is the kind of direction it's going in. I know a lot of people will disagree and think that it should remain the same- loud guitar riffs ,long drawn out solos, and heavy drum beats- but that certainly isn't what the Pumpkins are about. Adore is a representation of being ahead in the world of rock, and that is what the Pumpkins have always been about. The other albums were appropriate and felt right during the time that they came out- and so they were my favorite at those times. Adore is appropriate and feels right for now, and that is why it is currently my favorite. That's not to say though, that I never listen to Gish, Siamese Dream, or Mellon Collie because i listen to them alot. |
