Love
Some people have heard the phrase "God is Love" and have asked what it means. God's love is not based on emotions. He doesn't love you one day and hate you the next. Wouldn't that be terrible? Haven't there been days where you have also said that you loved a person and then they make you make you mad? What is flying through your mind at that moment? Definetly not how much you love them.
Jeremiah 31:3,
And from far away the Lord appeared to his people and said, "I love you people with a love that will last forever. That is why I have continued showing you kindness."
God's love lasts forever. That is hard for most people to believe because isn't it hard for ourselves to love something continually? But God chose to love you and he won't quit loving you no matter how many sins you may do against him. Maybe you have been hurt by a person that you thought loved you and now you won't trust anyone else. God isn't a man, so he doesn't have a man's mind. He won't break promises, and he won't change his opinions about you. You are his creation and you were created in his image. He loves each and everyone of you because you are special to him.
Romans 5:8,
But God shows his great love in this way: Christ died for us while we were still sinners.
Some people become confused because when they hear that God sent his son to die on the cross, they think he is a cruel father, but he isn't. Jesus had the choice to back out of the whole dying thing, but he had the same mind as his father and he also loved you. How many fathers would sacrifice their children for the people they love? Not too many. How many children would grow up in this world (not sinning once) and be treated cruely, but die for the same people? Definetly not any. Just think about that for a second. Have you seen that kind of love in operation around you? Or is most love just based if people are nice to you? I know this must hit hard in your life, but you will never see God stop loving you. He will love you for enternity!
