Revenge
Revenge

Heh... heh... let's just say someone stole you're bike or your brother or sister ruined your favorite shirt. Now you're mad. At that moment you are probably thinking of a way to cause total torment in their life, right? (Like one of those people in the cartoons that are rubbing their hands together and cackling evily.) It seems like a good plan, but when you do it to them it doesn't seem pleasurable anymore. Like all the fun was drained from it. That kind of sucks doesn't it? Well God doesn't want you to take revenge on a person because it can cause more displeasure in both of our lives. How many of you guys want to feel more miserable? No, I didn't think so.

Leviticus 19:18 You shall not take vengeance, or bare any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

So on a scale of 1-10 how much mercy do you show to that person. If a ten... well then I must go and congratulate you, but if a one... man you need some work. I mean it is easy just to fight back when a person does something wrong to you. I have problems with that myself, but you got to remember that life isn't all about revenge. Don't take up a grudge against a person because it will cause you to become angry. When you are angry, don't you do something that you will soon regret? You got to show them love, be ready to forgive a person of their mistakes. If you know you will snap easily then just take some time to cool off. It does work.

So now you read all of this. What are you going to do now? Just blow it off because having revenge is so fun or try to commit that you'll stay calm? Yes, yes, it is hard to keep a merciful attitude towards a person, but doesn't it feel good when you know that you didn't cause harm to that person? Let God take care of your problems. He is willing to do that for you.

Take the time to read these scriptures:
