Author's Note - Thanks to Jessica for recommending Lullabye for my next title.
This one is ALL Lewis and Angel. And for any of you under 17 who shouldn't
be reading this but probably are, let me say a few things. Lewis and Angel are
two adults who are deeply in love and engaged to be married so they may not
be practicing very safe sex. (We can assume that Angel is on The Pill though.)
In real life, if you decide not to practice abstinence then for God's sake protect
yourselves! Getting pregnant is the least of your worries now a days. Sex can
actually kill you. Be safe! Ok, that's my message for the day. Now please enjoy
the story...

Angels
Part 9 - Lullabye (Goodnight, my Angel)
by Ruth

Thursday
10:36pm
Angel's apartment

Lewis and Angel were spooned around eachother in bed. Lewis was silently
reveling in the soft feel of Angel's skin next to his. He buried his face in her hair
and inhaled deeply. God, he loved that smell. He chuckled to himself as he recalled
the one time he decided to use her shampoo to wash his own hair. And her body
wash which had the same minty scent. It was the morning after the first night he'd
ever spent at her apartment. He stepped out of the shower smelling like a giant
candy cane. Angel had given him an odd look when he came out of the bathroom,
but to her credit, had said nothing.
"What are you laughing about?" Angel asked.
"Nothin'," Lewis responded as he lifted his head up from her hair.
Angel smiled to herself as Lewis began smelling her hair again. He always did
that. She'd start to worry if he didn't. Lewis' arms felt great around her. She loved
getting lost in his embrace. And she had a thing for his smell as well. Tommy Hilfiger
mixed with his own scent. She often stole one of his shirts to have when he wasn't
around. She'd curl up on the couch with it and just breathe it in. When the scent
began to fade it would "mysteriously" reappear and Lewis would wear it again, making
the scent new. And, of course, it would disappear again soon after. She was pretty
sure he'd caught on by now. He stopped commenting when it turned up. He would
simply put the shirt on and then later, "accidentally" leave it at her place. It was the
little things he did like that to make her happy that she loved most. The things he
did that seemed like an accident or a happy coincident. He never asked for or even
wanted credit. Just to make her happy.
"Angel," Lewis' low voice broke into her thoughts.
     "Hmm?" she responded.
"I thought maybe you'd fallen asleep," he said.
     "No," she said softly.
"What were you thinking about?" Lewis asked.
     "Just you," said Angel.
"*Just* me? I don't like the sound of that!"
Angel laughed. "I didn't mean it that way, you oaf!"
"Oaf?" said Lewis, moving away from her. He had a slight grin on his face. "I
definitely don't like that!"
"Hey, where are you going?" Angel asked as she rolled over to face him.
"No. I'm an oaf. I don't know any better than to not put my arms around a beautiful,
naked woman when she's in my bed," Lewis teased.
"This is *my* bed," Angel said. Lewis turned his head and looked at her.
"Smartass," he said as he started tickling her under the covers. Angel started to
giggle and tried to shield herself, to no avail.
"Hey!" she laughed. "Watch where you're puttin' your hands!"
"You weren't sayin' that an hour ago," Lewis said as he reminded her where he had
put his hands then. Angel gasped.
"That's what I love about women," Lewis said as he watched Angel's eyes close in
pleasure. "No recovery period. They can just keep going and going..."
     "Jesus, Lewis," Angel said shakily.
     "What, Baby?" he whispered.
Angel was beyond words now. Just another one of those "little things" he did for her
that amazed her. She'd never known a man who was completely happy just giving her
pleasure and not wanting anything for himself. Not that this didn't do anything for him.
She knew he liked to watch her as he touched all the right places. It was almost a little embarrassing. Almost...
Lewis watched, with a wicked grin on his face, as he brought her over the edge.
"I'll never get tired of that," he said to her.
"Neither will I," Angel said with a grin. She sighed deeply and stared into Lewis' intense,
green eyes. "Lewis?" she finally said.
"Yeah?" he said, sounding a little sleepy.
"Have you thought about the future?" she asked, her eyes wide. Lewis' eyes opened a
bit wider as well.
"The future?" he asked. "I usually don't think much past the moment. 'Cept when I'm
at my 'thinkin' spot' at work."
"Yes, I know. I had your 'thinking spot' covered over with lead paneling!"
Lewis sat up a bit. "Why'd you do that?" he asked.
"Because I'd like children," Angel answered. Lewis looked a little confused. "Do you
know how much radiation was pouring out of that wall and killing all of your little swimmers?"
she joked.
"Killing..." a look of realization crossed Lewis' face. "Oh, God! You don't mean...?"
Lewis was sitting completely upright now. He looked panicked.
"Lewis, calm down. It was very low levels of radiation. I'm sure you're fine," Angel said.
Lewis wasn't fine, though. He looked terror stricken.
"Well, what if...what if..." he couldn't finish the thought.
"...you can't have children?" Angel finished for him. Lewis looked at Angel and nodded.
Angel shrugged. "Then you can't have children. I can live with that." Lewis looked a little
relieved.
     "Really?" he said.
"Really," Angel said as she leaned over and kissed him. "I love you, Lewis. If we can't
have our own children and we decide we really want them we can always adopt."
"Yeah," agreed Lewis. "I hadn't thought of that."
"And like I said, I'm sure you're fine. We should be able to get at least one kid out of
you," Angel said as she reached under the sheets and grabbed him. Lewis jumped a little.
"That's not what's going to come out of me if you keep doing that," he smiled. Angel
started laughing and couldn't continue her ministrations. "Hey, I didn't say stop!" Lewis complained.
"I'm sorry," said Angel, her laughter tapering down. "That was cruel of me," she said.
"It's all right," said Lewis. "You know what I said about women and they're recovery
time? Well, unfortunately that time is considerably longer for most men. So it wouldn't have
done any good anyway." Angel looked at him challengingly.
"Betcha you're wrong," she said. Lewis raised an eyebrow at her.
"Oh, really," said Lewis. "You think you can make The Captain stand up and salute
just like that?"
"'The Captain'?!" Angel stiffled another fit of laughter. "That's the first time I've heard
you give it a name."
"Well, I used to call him The Lieutenant but he's seen so much action lately I thought
he deserved a promotion." Angel lost it then. "Hey! I'm sharing private stuff with you
and you're laughing!" Lewis complained. "Now you have NO chance!"
"Oh God, Lewis!" Angel managed between giggles. "I'm sorry! You're right!" Her
giggles subsided. "I'm being a bitch! Forgive me." She was trying to look serious and
not grin but it wasn't working. Lewis smiled back at her.
"All right. It's kinda funny," he said. He laid back on the pillow, his arms outstretched
to either side. "Ok, get to work."
Angel just looked at him. "Well, that makes me wanna do it," she said sarcastically.
Lewis tunred his head to look at her. The eyebrow came up again.
"This doesn't turn you on?" he deadpanned.
"The idea was for me to turn you on," Angel said, smirking.
"Oh, right," said Lewis. He looked back up at the ceiling. "Go for it."
"Fine," said Angel. She grabbed the sheet and whipped it off him so she could see
everything.
"I feel so exposed," joked Lewis.
"Good," said Angel. She moved across the bed toward him. Lewis watched,
interested. But all she did was straddle his legs, sitting her rear down on his thighs
and then sat and stared at him. Lewis looked at her curiously but so far nothing was
happening. Until Angel decided she needed to stretch. She reached her arms languidly
in the air and rolled her head back, making a purring noise the whole time. Then there
was a definite in Lewis' groin area. And another. And another as she continued to stretch
and move until, indeed, The Captain was saluting.
Angel looked down. "You are so easy," she said triumphantly. Lewis narrowed his
eyes at her and the wicked grin was back. He suddenly sat up, grabbed Angel by the
shoulders and rolled her over onto her back. Angel yelped.
"Looks like you were right," Lewis said as he hovered over her. "We shouldn't let this
go to waste," he said as he kissed her.
"Certainly not," said Angel as she kissed him back. They made love a little faster and
harder than usual, due to their playful moods. When it was over, they laid there in a tangle
of arms and legs, exhausted. Lewis started to chuckle.
     "What?" asked Angel.
"I think I could do that again," he said. Angel smiled.
"Me too," she said. "But I think we should get some sleep."
"Always the rational one," said Lewis. "I don't think I can sleep yet."
"Good," Angel said. "You can sing to me."
"Sing to you?" Lewis said, a little uncomfortable.
     "Yeah, sing me a lullabye."
"I don't know any," said Lewis.
"It doesn't have to be a lullybye," she said. Lewis thought a moment.
"Well, I know a little bit of a song. I don't think I can remember the whole thing
though."
"That's OK," Angel said. Lewis took a deep breath and looked a little embarrassed. Regardless he sang for her. It wasn't perfect but it didn't matter.
"'Goodnight, my Angel time to close your eyes...'" Lewis sang intil he couldn't remember
any more. "Sorry, that's all I know," he said quietly. Angel didn't say anything. He looked
over at her and found her staring at him. He stared back.
"Well, maybe one more time," she said finally. A smile spread across Lewis' face.
"I thought you'd never ask," he said.
